I just got George Michael'd

Post by rock_it »

Hit up from behind ...

Was driving to work today, minding my own business ... Sitting at a set of lights... Next thing I know, I hear a bang, my body jolts, and I thought what was that ...

After a second, I realised it was me being hit ... ... So not too happy ... Now I gotta get the car off the road to my smash repair joint ... So it looks like I will be FTO'less for a while...

Good news is the c/f boot is not damaged (at a quick glance), and it just pushed the rear bar in a bit, cracked some of the paint around the rear lights, and pushed the number plate in a little ... Can't see what it has done to the rear reinforcement bar though ... So not sure how long she will be off the road for, but guess I will go see my guy on the weekend... All the way down in Wollongong ... But what can you do ...

The FTO reflector garnish is undamaged also ... So, I am not sure if I will put it on the new bar ... A little undecided at the moment ....

Ah bugger man that sucks. Least you weren't hurt and by the sounds of it, they didn't try to do a runner. There's plenty of good bodyshops up here that can fix it good though...

And definitely put the garnish on the new bumper 8)

Racing in a VL is like being in the Special Olympics, coz even if you win, you're still a RETARD

Dude, it's like our cars are cursed. Treat them with something nice and then something bad happens to them :( Sorry to hear mate, at least the other bloke will be incurring all the expenses

Yeah, thanks guys ... I just had to vent ... It has been a real sh*tty day, and tomorrow is not going to be much better ... 13 hours of work and still in the office ... Grrr...

I think I will get some side skirts for the car too .. Since they will be mixing up paint, it may be a good time to have em put on ... I would like to have them mould them in, but will not have the cash ... So the normal fit will have to do until I do my whole re-spray ...

I know there are other panel beaters around, but it has taken me ages to find a good panel beater to trust... And since he did such a discounted job on my GSR, I kind of feel obligated to take him all my business... Plus he fitted the rear spoiler, and did a top notch job on that... And will adjust the c/f hood to fit (free of charge) ... So yeah, I guess the drive is worth it ...

Ohhh & Jay6, the rear garnish is this ...

Image

Not the best picture, but, you should be able to get the idea ... It has FTO written in black on it too ... So yeah, it is that red bit between the rear lights...

Karma ...

I couldn't bring myself to do it ... I guess if I look at it this way ... There were a few little stone chips in the rear bar, so, they would be fixed, and the car should be in better condition then before the accident... So that in itself is really its own reward...

hahaha yeh but you know you want to charge the sideskirts too :D

Another thing, I reckon keep the garnish cos it looks pretty good, but if you're not wanting to do so I'll be interested in taking it off your hands
