Shannons

Post by dstocks »

Just thought id post this up as its worth remembering. On the way back from the coast on Sunday night, i had a bit of misfortune. Didnt see it happen, but noticed a large crack in my windscreen. Then spent all Sunday night looking for windscreen removal tools as I have one or 2 spare, but from experience have found they are an absolute bastard to get out.

Having spent a couple of hours surfing, I remebered hearing that Shannons do a free windscreen once a year for members. Checked this out and sure enough, its true. It got replaced today (brand new) and didnt cost me a thing and also didnt effect my excess. So for all you Shannons members out there, if you ever get a broken windscreen, dont pay for a replacement as youll get one for free with a single phonecall.

Nup, doesnt effect that either. The reason I remembered it is that I did the same thing years ago with my galant. They dont advertise the fact widely though, so im guessing very few people take it up.

Windscreen option is pretty cool...even better that shannons automatically include it. I had it optioned on one of my older cars and yes it doesn't affect premiums and you don't need to pay excess. One phone call and my cracked windscreen was replaced the next day :)

Bleh, too bad they don't insure people under 25 :?

Actually I've been on third party since I've had my car so I suppose it doesn't make a difference anyway lol... I need to get comprehensive soon
