boot light

Post by col2560 »

my boot light isnt working, there is no power to the connector that plugs into the globe holder.
is there a switch in the bootlid catch somewhere? i see a wire and a white switch in there. looks like this switch is part of the catch mechanism, held in with pins.

thanks for any help,

colin.

Sorry, quite correct, there has to be something. I dont distinctly remember a pressure switch in the boot, but that does not mean that there isnt one. You may find it is wired to the door lights though. Still worth checing the fuses though.

BTW, your sensors arrived today ;)

The switch is part of the boot latch mechanism... mine is dodgy too

it might just be easier to install another switch somewhere, i think i have a door switch from my mustang somewhere.

do you know which fuse it is? i cant see it on the fuse panel pic.

i replaced the boot latch with one of dstocks recycled ones, now the light works fine. the switch is a fixed part of the latch.
