I'd be curious to know how many of those wanting upgrades actually had a legitimate reason for doing so. :P

haha very good point ruchi :)

well my legit reason (And ask anyone who's been infront of me) is i like to brake a bit later than most. i also do a lot of highspeed winding road / hill climbing and track work ;)

btw those interested Unique will shortly have a brake upgrade that will increase the size of your rotors and keep the same callipers. this will help with braking (And cooling) whilst not having to spend thousands of dollars.

Surely it depends a lot on price? Otherwise why would anyone not want the very best?

absolutely but some brake upgrade kits are overkill, unless your running slicks and the car lives on the race track.

i done think there could ever be such a thing called 'overkill' when it comes to brakes haha... the better it stops, the safer your car will be - that's my perspective anyway. i have seen Wilwood 6-pot calipers with monster 375mm discs on a DC5R that is basically kitted out with aftermarket chip and basic breathing mods... the car is raced on the tracks regularly i've been told and it works a treat!

so yeah in your case steve, since you like to brake later towards the apex entry, your will want 6-pots as your friend LoL...

Ive already warpped 2 pairs of front disc in the last 12 months or so from intensive braking.
Looked at getting a Brembo setup but got quoted nearly $3k for what I need!! 8O
Think I'll just stick to replacing the rotors every once in a while. :o

Don't forget bigger the brakes, the more weight you adding to the front. Unless u get those super expensive one.

Anyway i think 4 pot Brembo should be enough for both track & daily use.
