R-spec ECU

Post by zaskar98 »

Took the passenger side kick panel out today while cleaning interior. Behind was a black box that I presume is the ecu, as it was the only one there. It is marked on outside as "R-spec"; loom in one side and port in other for diagnostics I guess, no other switches, buttons etc. This is not standard I presume. Car is a 95 GPX manual. Can anyone tell me anything about it :?:

Been having a bit of a google, not much info, but it sounds like it may be a mivec controller as Data Systems used to make them under the R-spec name, but now discontinued. Apparently there should be some sort of handset, or even a switch as they also made a 'stealth' version. Any other info anyone, or know where I can find some?

OK sorted out for myself with help of google and yahoo, mivec controller ecu with handset/head missing. Obviously I don't know if settings have been changed. I presume that I can just unplug it given that eveyones opinion on every FTO website is that they are a crock of sh!t?
