I agree with you simon totally so have pretty much decided evo would be far easir option even though motor more expensive I believe will be cheaper conversion by the end result and much more power

Trying to find one before we leave but ime running out I do still miss my baby being on road though driving a ugly corona at moment awful!!!

i think you should go with the 6a13tt and then swap the two turbos 4 one,

but depends how much power you are after too,

the person i know who has done this conversion is running easy 12s

with simple mods like CAI and Exaust.

i know that as soon as i get off my p's its something i will be doing,

as well as a possible AWD conversion.

I'm not that power hungery so would prob leave as twin setup but definatly leaning towards to evo conversion may cost little more but I think benifits far out weigh the 6A13tt and the conversion should be much simpler

But wont be going AWD yet as far too expensive however am keeping close eye on FTOSAM and his conversion work 8)

Mate the 6A13 is a straight fit why do you think the evo will be easier. I can assure you there is no way an evo conversion will be easier than a evo

Because of amount of room that will be left to work around....
The motor istelf is straight fit but gearbox will becoming from evo

Of course drive shafts and hubs will need changing but that is not too difficult and I wont be doing AWD conversion right now

However still unsure on what to do and just found a 6A13TT with box and ecu/loom for $1500 NZ (incl turbo's intercooler)

yeh do what me and I8A4RE are saying.

trust me its a bolt on job, and you have 2 cylinders more lol

its a mad conversion, and u can have it both fwd with your own gearbox

or awd with the vr4 gear box and a evo tank, rear diff and drive shafts

lol thats true, but how much power do you want?

srsly through the front wheels you really wont want to be

pushin more than what the 6a13tt would be doin after some mods

such as making it a big single turbo, inter cooled cold air intake exhaust etc

the guy i know who has done this conversion is spinning in every gear,

trust me you wouldn't want that much power running through the front wheels.

only do a evo conversion if you want to go AWD and spend a shitload.

6a13tt is both easier to put in, and more practical

I agree jono but he said he wasnt goin for massive power and wanted the easiest conversion. I completely and utterly believe that the 6a13 fits that bill

lol, i seriously think you will have enough power...

http://www.mitsubishi-fto.net/main.htm

take this for example, there are quicker ones out there now,

but this put out something like 300hp in 2006,

keep in mind that there have been more conversions and more powerful

6a13tt powered FTOs lately.

and the 6a13tt is a bolt on job, And you can use your FTO gearbox untill you go into that higher power range.

before you do anything like get an evo engine, do a sh*t load of research

and im sure you will find the 6a13tt will be the best suited.

Right have decided on 6A13TT and will keep twin turbo
now I need question answered if someone can please?

After many hours of research I still am firm believer that this will bolt in incl the rear turbo, however I will need slimline fans for front turbo but that no issue

The question is modified engine mounts for all this to bolt in direct with no issue for rear turbo if they lowered mounts it should be direct fit :?:
anyone else know?

you shouldn't need to do any custom mounts or anything of that nature.

from what i've been told from those who have done it is that it shuld bolt right on.

and be a good fit, all u have to do is lift the AC lines and the brake line just a little bit.

btw let me be the first to say congrats on your decision lol

it was the right one :D.

make sure you take plenty of pics

and keep a project journal xD
