PISTON RING/ LIFTERS?

Post by vipfto »

Big prob guys :!:
Started car yesterday and she almost felt like running on five cylinders
blue smoke was coming out exhaust periodicaly, I removed the plugs to check them and the rear bank had one that was oiled up
I replaced and still same issue
Now to me it sounds like a couple of things
1. piston ring shot
2. lifter for valve bugered or valve sticking
3. Bent valve
Any more ideas will be appreciated please?

Bugger!

If you rotate the cams such that none of the valves on that cylinder are depressed, you should be able to use a big screw driver to lever them & check if one has seized or bent. To check for a blown ring, you'll need to do a compression test on a good & the bad cylinder then compare figures.
