apexi safc

hey guys does a apexi safc fit and wrk on the fto and is their anything i have to do to the unit like the wiring to make it fit. My mate has one lying around are they gud to have or waste of money. Do they plug straight into the ecu

yes they do work and fit on an fto and yes there should be a wiring kit or 'instructions' to install. My understand is that once its installed the car will have to be tuned to the unit to get any gains...

150 but are they gud and do they give any more kw at the wheels like a piggy back or it just for tuning

I think it's more for basic tuning. Others can shed more light, I'm not familiar with piggybacks.

i have one but i have decided not to put it in, i have a piggyback instead now and it should be getting put in soon

SAFC's are only for the airflow so i don't think the results are worth the cost involved.

also if tuning is not done correctly then it can actually make it worse.

all I do know is you are best to do all your other mods first before installing an safc..
e.g. exhaust, airintake, extractors etc...

yes they do add KW's I had mine dynoed pre and post and was a worth while addition....

I bought a safc II for around $200 and installed for another few hundred??? Compared to other mods I thought the value was there....... obviously there are better options, but also a lot costlier.

yeah i got full air intake full extractors 2.5 high flow exhaust which i have been told by some guy in darwin is to big and needs to be like 2.25 is a better size for a high reving motor and having the airflow slowed down during the exit of the exhaust?

btw ECU location on 1995 FTO GPX is located on the low passenger side dash.
make sure u disconnect the battery. for safety.
unplug the loom from ecu n work from there.
tools i used:
heat shrink wire stripper soldering iron electrical trap right angle pick tool

simple to install. easy to use. i have one on m y resting FTO and i notice its pretty cool.
i admit its a rice product but at times it helps u get an correct reading of your vehicle.
picked mine up for 50 bucks off some guy for an different forum so decided to get it. for 50 bucks why not since they cost atleast $180 onwards.
