hmmm, bit of an ominous sign.

Youll need the error codes to determine what is wrong.

It is normally just a sensor, if its flashing at 1Hz, or overheated fluid if flashing at 2Hz.

Typically input or output sensor is playing up and an easy fix.

drove it today and it was fine, no problem at all. is a faulty input or output sensor likely to be an Intermittent problem?

It could be but it will get worse so extract the error codes and see what it is. That way you wont break down on a dark highway somewhere. (unless the bird you're with warrants it)

Well my fto would drive fine for a few mins 10mins? and then it would go into limp mode (3rd gear)
And it was gear box... $1200 fix.

seems it was only going into limp mode when cold. did a ATF and filter change today and its cured the problem i think.

fluid level is good, but it is still "limp moding" when cold. after a few km's i just stop and re-start the engine and its fine. so its still a mystery. im going to change the input and output sensors next.
