Looks nice, but for that kinda money I'd be asking for 12 months rego, not just an RWC...

in comparison i bought a 96 gpx (trip) recently for 11k - imported 1 yr ago, 80,000 km, 12 mth reg, mags, sunroof, coilovers, exhaust etc... just as a comparison.

This is a 98 with similiar km's so i'd definetly drop the price down to at least 15k IMO but 17k no way

by the sounds of it they've just had it imported, have a look at doing that yourself instead probably get one a lot cheaper that way

its a grade 4.5 98 GPvR.... I'd say they're not far off the mark, but $15,500 would be nicer..

IMO - It looks like a good example with realistic kilometres. I'd believe the car has done 88xxx k's in that condition... whereas some k's you see on imports are so low for the year, it's just gotta be bullsh*t.

Just some things I thought of as I looked at the pictures, which could be discussion points for dropping the price:

1. No fog lights. I don't like the look without them, and they're damn near impossible to get your hands on.
2. Only RWC, no registration. Why? And deduct that from the cost, because 'all the other cars I've looked at are registered'
3. It's a private seller. The car has just been imported. So... why are they selling it? Seems a little strange.
4. Head unit - it'll be JDM spec which is usually a pain. Check it plays burnt CDs, and hopefully MP3 CDs, otherwise it's pretty much useless. Radio won't work either.
5. Suspension - at 88xxx km's, the suspension should be okay but won't be great; some of the other cars on carsales.com.au have coil-overs already... just another consideration.

Me personally, I'd pay $15000 max for any FTO, and it'd have to at least be - facelift model, reasonable km's, perfect paintwork, coil-overs, headers and full exhaust, hopefully aftermarket rims too.

Some people might think that's unreasonable, but unfortunately they're overestimating the market value of our cars today.

And at 88xxx kms, be prepared for the 100,000 kms service bill.

Actually, I dont think thats a bad buy if its a 4.5. It is a version R and they always cost more. A GPvR on auction in japan will in most cases go for double that of a GPX (but this is a 4.5, so it would have gone for a lot). I am helping adi_adi find one atm and based on what ive been seeing, this would have gone for 8-9K at auction (which translates to about the going price once onroad) whereas a GPX would have gone for 2K (and be onroad for 10K. I have never seen a condition 4.5 come up. Mine is a condition 4 and its immaculate. If this is what he is saying it is, and he is not selling it because it has a problem, you wont find a better one and you wouldnt be able to import it yourself for much less (even if you got mates rates).

Yes you could find one thats cheaper, but if you want one that is basically new, you wont find anything else that comes close to that. Just get someone that knows cars to check over it for you. There are plenty of threads on the forum that tell you what to look for.

Yeah fully and if you dont know much thats is, you will be looking anywhere from $800-$1500. Most poeple have been paying over the $1000 mark

Well done buddy... this one here?

It's a great example, don't worry if you paid a bit over market for it; it'll be worth it in the long run.

Thanks guys! I just love it! I got it down to $15000 and the car is like new. The guy said that someone off this forum went to see it to?
