Post by gpat »

Thanx azza for organising the dyno day...sorry i couldnt stay longer.
The car needs a tune and the apexi hast been dialed in, but we still managed 105.5 kw or 141.5 hp Im pleased with that.I should be getting the apexi tuned this week and another power run

What motor you running?
because 105kw seems a little low for the V6..

If you are running the standard one, that is actually pretty impressive..
Good work ;)

uhh that is 105.5 kw at the wheels. FTO's are 150kw. Not at the wheels. most people with stock FTO's would be lucky to be in the high 90's Kw at the wheel.

Amacha, stick it on the dyno mate. Estimating is pretty useless, as we've seen in the past.

I find that hard to believe because my mates 100kw motor 4age engine gets 86kw at the wheels ?

Could you explain why this is and how you know ?

If i was to put my car on th dyno i am expecting 110-115kw at the wheels.

105 is good. 110 - 115 is unachievable if you haven't done a full exhaust, cold air intake and ECU upgrade

Here are some examples from previous dyno days:

GPX Manuals
TJ2709 - 99.6 (went up to 105.1 with the CAI fitted)
Silentbob - 102.0
G1 - 103.3 (went up to 105.4 with Octane boost)
Frozen Waffles - 103.4
mxysxy - 100.6
hnm738 - 113.6 (SafcII)
pato - 118.3 (Unichip)
MrFT00 - 115.3 (Unichip)
Spetz - 112.3
Barfy - 108.1 (Emanage)

GPX Tips
Airborne - 96.1 (went up to 99.6 with CAI)
Teania - 92.3
Steve - 89.0
Smorison - 96.4
Theremin - 93.7
Sentry - 88.2
Meng - 96.2
FTO338 - 102.3
Lanyon - 99
Wildride - 123.1 (Turbo)

GR Manual
Hek - 71Q 90.9

Ummm ... I am not trying to be smart here ... And I don't have a clue what has been done to the car ... But mine was at 111.1kw (from the FTO dyno day @ pulse), and as far as I know it just has a Pod and an exhaust... Not sure if it is full or just cat back, as I have never been under the car...

Car has Mines stickers on it, but I haven't seen a mines upgrade for an FTO .... And you would assume that if any ECU work or reflashing was done, that the speed cut was taken off.... But I do know the speed cut does exist ..

So in short, no aftermarket ECU, or no changed fuel map ... No MIVEC controller, no nothing and still a pretty high result ... :?: :?:

Yes, Mines sure do an FTO ECU ;) Seen the odd one pop up on here from time to time. Its not a piggyback either, its a complete replacement for the stock ECU.

Hmmm ... Must be pretty rare ... But yeah, it would take out the speed cut though ... :?:

Yep, rare as hens teeth. Last one I saw was in our for sale section in Jan last year and it went for $300. Pretty sure that would explain the lack of speed limit too..

They have a plaque on them like the pic. Its an FTO one.

I didn't have full exhaust...and pushed 115.6 kw atw...

Exhaust wise it was only a high flow metal cat and high flow axle back. Even the catback piping was stock.
