Transmission Playing Up.

Post by dru »

Soo ive had my car for about 3months now.?? & about a month & a half ago my transmission started 2 play up.

This is what happens:
I start up my car. (everything is sweet)
I take it out of park & put it into gear (Auto/Tiptronic)
The Car jolts heavily forward. (duznt seem 2 good)
I start driving (& REVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV) its not going into 4th gear.!?
The N gear starts flashing while its stuck in 3rd gear.
& if i change it 2 Tiptronic i can only shift down into 2nd gear. ( which i hate doing because when i go 2 shift up into 3rd, it duznt grab hold of the gear & it revvs like its in Ngear & then clicks in & jolts forward heavily)

HAS ANYONE EXPERIENCED THIS BEFORE.?!! OR KNOW WHAT is going on.

my mates told me depending on how much a new transmission gear box will cost, think about cnverting into a manual. what do u guys think.??

I NEED WISDOM PPL lol.!! please SHARE with ME.!!
peace.!!

Sounds like your torque converter is about to get up & leave you for a better looking woman.

Check the error codes first. That flashing 'N' means something:

I love the "i have no idea but your probably F^*ked", call. Way to scare the boy.\

You could be dealing with multiple issues here or they may be related, you need to do what ben says and check your error codes. Tell your friends to shut their pie holes they dont know sh*t  . Mine used to do that clunk thing from park into gear so i cahnged the fluid and she was sweet.

Worst case scenario you can pick up a second hand gearbox for around the $300 mark.

But start with basics and then work your way to doing a manual conversion

Have you changed the tranny fluid since you bought it or know if the previous owner changed it?

dispite all the noobs on this thread...

check error codes, might be the input sensor..common problem. Commoon cause for the jolt is the solanoids are fucked, which are not the end for the world.

Take it to a transmission place to get it checked out.
