Quik question about roof glue

Post by mitsufto »

Hey guys,

Today i took out the roof lining so i could remove the glue that causes the roof rust. I tried to use a coat hanger to remove the glue but its stuck solid and really hard to remove, it crumbles a little bit but still to hard. Whats the best option to remove the glue.

Worst thing is thats its started to rust a little which is a bummer.

thanks for any help,

scotty

You could try a screwdriver and a hammer, but youd have to be really careful you didnt put dents in your roof. If you bent the shaft of the screwdriver slightly, it would probably reduce the chance of dents.

Would heating the glue up with a hair dryer help?

Angle grinder, just dont through the actual roof

Nah when you think glue, the first thing that comes to mind is something the consistency of silicone. This stuff is more like the consistency of rock ;)

Angle grinder (shudder). It would do it, but I wouldnt be going near my roof with one. One of the wire discs attached to the end of a drill would be safer. Even then, that can put a dent in the roof if it grabs. If you go down either of those 2 paths, wear some eye protection. The glue fragments when it comes out and is nasty if it gets in your eye.
