Yeah well that depends whos doing it, i mean agent or direct. & also if u know anyone at the custom as well.
From experience, I've waited from 1hrs to 3mths before. The record so far is 7yrs, which was featured on Channel 9 "60mins" last yr.

Something is seriously wrong if it's taking that long to get Customs clearance.
I speak from experience having done a lot of importing myself. Using an agent (and I've used a few different ones) I have never had a shipment take more than 1 day to clear. Without using an agent, I've never had it take any longer than 3 days.
From previous posts Will has mentioned two key words, one is that this is being organised via an importer and that it is coming in a container. The reason those words are important, is that an importer should know how to deal with customs, and more than likely would use an agent to process the paperwork, which means this should be done within 1 day.
In reference to the word "container", goods are normally shipped as either a "container load (CL)" or "less than a container load (LCL)". Importers and their agents would normally ensure that all the paperwork was in place to get the entire container processed ASAP, as the alternative is just too costly. If just one piece of the paperwork wasn't ready, even if it only effected one order, it would normally delay the entire container and all its contents. Knowing how big shipping containers are, this would have a huge impact on any business, due to the volume of items effected. It would be incredibly rare for this ever to happen due to the cost it would cause, so container loads are normally processed very quickly.
I'm not attacking anyone here or trying to stir up sh*t, rather I am genuinely concerned for those who have forked out their money, and from personal experience I know how importing works and how quick it normally is.

Like i said, 7yrs is the record so sh*t can happen. Who care whats the normal procedure is if they can't get it right.
If you genuinely concern of others, instead of degrading one reputation on a public forum, send a PM to Will, I always get a reply from him.

Kev, I understand that you know Will and that you'll stick up for him, but I'm not saying that Will is at fault. In fact I'll go as far as to say that he's not, rather it is the importer.
But I will say that he should keep these people more up to date, especially given that he's got their money. It's been nearly a month since he last gave an update, and nearly a week since someone has asked for another update. And they paid for this months ago.
Group buys benefit all the members of the FTO community, and it's something I want to see continue to happen, but it's important that those organising them do so smoothly and provide regular updates. It would only take one bad experience to stop all the group buy benefits.

"Hey SilentBob
Gareth from j-spec is currently being diffcult and is refusing to lower the price of the units.
What I'll do is I'll forward you and the others deposit back for the time being.
Once I have this sorted I'll pm everyone again."
So which one is it????

SilentBob since i spoke to him earlier then 11th, that makes your PM is the final decision by him, & its also the proof he didn't ignore us. But i had to agree he did takes a while, maybe a bit 2 long. Do keep in mind he did try to help us by sharing the info he got on a group buy.
So it wasn't necessary for others (who wasn't interested at the first place) to step in & try to be the "Big Brother" since he already send PM around.
I don't need/want anyone to stir another fight here, all i said at the start was I had faith in him & sharing my point of view, so please don't try to give a "Lecture on other topic" to steer off the point.

Hi to all.
First of all, I apologize for the delay in the update.
Secondly as stated on the PM to SilentBob I will refund Euro, SilentBob and others for the deposit. Once this situation is resloved with Gareth from j-spec I wil informed everyone about it.
Ruchi I understand your concern here in terms whether if I am ripping follow memebers of. And yes I agree that it would only take one bad experience to stop all the group buy benefits and I am trying to stop this from happening.
All this took so long because Gareth bumped up the price after receiving the order. I have been chasing him up for the past month about this!
I am still in negotiations regarding the indicator pricing considering:
a: I have got parts and bits from them in the past without problems
b: they seem willing to help us in importing whether in seprate parts or group buys as a club. It would be good to have someone from the industry to sponsor, support and deal with the importing bits in the japan side. but this may change with j-spec depending on the outcome of this situation.
