Veilside Combat Wing [SOLD]

Post by dstocks »

Got a genuine Veilside combat wing for sale. This weighs about 5kg and has adjustable pitch (unlike the majority of the copies made here in Australia). The one I have had damaged tips when I got it. Looked like someone had dropped it. I have repaired the tips with fibreglass and a little spray putty and it has been prepared for painting. A coat of paint and itll be as good as new. How easy is this to install? I cant even get my vR wing off? All I see is the three nuts and bolts. Undid those but it still dont come off. Assuming theres some glue holding it on?

Yep, got the payment thanks mate.
what are the dimensions of the wing
As to dimensions, the wing blade is 1.2m long, which sits out wider than the version R wing. The supports attach to the boot lid with about 1.5 cm overhang on each side of the boot. The height is comparable to a version R wing - about 28cm (estimate - a little hard to tell exactly when not fitted to a car). This wing sits further back than a version R wing though. Half of the wing plane would sit behind the bootlid.
How easy is this to install?
This wont line up with the existing holes (on a GPX - not sure about a version R but they are probably the same as the GPX). It seems to be set up to be fixed to the boot by double sided tape, but I would be securing it through one of the original holes as well. You will possibly have to fill a couple of the original holes in the boot as well as this sits further back.
    OMG $250!!!!!,
Yep. I thought about how much I should charge for this and ended up deciding that as long as it covers my costs plus a little for my repair work, happy to see it go at a good price to a member. From what ive been told these originally sold for like 3K and they dont make them anymore, so this is probably a real bargain.
All I see is the three nuts and bolts. Undid those but it still dont come off. Assuming theres some glue holding it on?
Oh and the version R wing will have double sided tape as well holding it down. If its like the GPX, it also has clips that pop out.

yep thats about it you have 5 nuts to undo, 3 clips and a S**T load of double sided tape on the outer pices of the wing.
the best way I found to take it off is to undo all the screws holding the blaid on take that off then the center pice, undo the nuts on the outer pices and slowly lift up and weg your fingers under it, and with the other hand and a sharp knife slice the tape in half untill it comes off.
this will also give you a good chance to give the boot a good clean and polish to get rid of all the S**T that sits under the wing.

OH and dstocks the wing looks great good luck with it :D

OK, I guess its sold. That was easy.
sh*t ... I should have waited for this instead of the stock Version R wing.....
And it may never have arrived mate. Its a real lucky dip im afraid. If the wing hadnt been damaged, its likely that i wouldnt have bought it because it would have been too expensive. The version R you have now cost $300 to buy. This would have gone for more if it had been OK. Ive found another version R wing im looking at now thats sitting at about $200. Dont know whether to grab it though.....

Mate, if you can get your hands on another, I would say do it ... They go pretty quickly as they are a desired part ... So one to keep a hold of ....

Anyways I am happy with what I got ... Just dropped it off at the paint shop today ... Yeah, took my time... lol... but with any luck it should be ready by next week ... Just depends on how busy they are I guess....

Sorry to bring up an old thread.

Any idea how much it cost to get the painted? can't be too hard, one straight bar and the two sides.
