I get pulled over all the time for no particular reason. They usually say, they are doing random breath checks, and doing random roadworthy checks. They try hard to get me on something, but they never do, because everything in my car is legit!!

i let this chick drive my fto one time late at night. We were going through a residential quiet street so she decides to turn high beam on. We go past another vehicle and they high beam back at us.

Turns out it was a cop and they decide to U-turn back and pull us over. Got a warning about the high beam and then they start talking about the little window wiper washer with the leds... lol

No fines.. thanks to the chick acting all: "sir, i didnt know..."

Get pulled over every few months (eastern suburbs here) for random checks... No fines for those, but got shafted with 6 points & $300+ for speeding during Easter 2 years ago. F%*ck double demerits!

The funniest thing was the cop spent about 5 minutes walking around the car, flashing his little torch at it... I thought he was going to try to defect me (even though it's stock). After a while he comes up to me and goes

"Hey, what car is this mate?"

Hahahaha priceless

I have been followed several times, but they couldn't get me for anything, well, apart from the fact that one time my GF had forgotten to put her seatbelt on

only once in two years and that was outside winton race way in vic

some old country cop who wanted to have a look at the car, never saw one before, random breath test of cause

once and only time on my bike

got me doing 84 in a 60 zone at 2.30am and this was when i was stopping at a red light, pull up as soon as cop caught up and then 3 of his mate turned up so i had four cop cars blocking the road, i also never took my helmet off(helmet hair), they didn't really care

Im doing the Dip of Policing Practice by distance education and when i was on work placement (experience) i was caught doing 110 in a 60 zone by the highway patrol guys that I was stationed at during my placement..... he only gave me 15Km/h over..... very lucky.
Also been caught doing 90 in a 60 zone, again only done for 15 over....
The trick to getting let off is always be really really nice and sorry to the officer, and get a good excuse (P plater was tailing me and the traffice light turned orange so i had to speed through it kinda one).
Going sideways at 140km/h isnt as fun as it sounds!

If i'm not mistaken a very similar concept to this was tested in court and the person got off.

In the case of a normal traffic offence, the onus is on you to prove that you didn't do it. :!:

In a situation where you life may be in danager, you are allowed to break the law, in the process of trying to avoid being killed. I can't remember the correct legal wording for this situation, nor all the terms and conditions of it, but basically you are able to take reasonable action to avoid such an incident even if it means you break the law. 8O

The beauty of this situation is that it reverses the onus, and it is now up to the prosecutor to prove that your life was not in danager. :P

If I remember the case correctly, the person got done by a speed camera. Their excuse was that they sped up to avoid a collision with a car which would have t-boned them at high speed, if they hadn't done so.

Anyone else shed more light on this or the legal loophole? :?:

In 27 months of driving my FTO I've never been pulled over for a random anything ....... touch wood! And no, I don't drive like a granny  (no offense to elderly people). Never had a fine (except for parking) or any demerit points.

*Touch wood!*
