Differences Between GR and GPX

Post by Agent007 »

Im planning to sell my GR for a GPX because the GR drives like its got the hand brakes on even my dads 4 cylinder camry feels faster. :x

So i was just wondering is there much difference between the GR and GPX models? I know the specs say the GPX has more HP but when your driving can you tell the difference? Does it seem faster?

If i was to add mods to the GR what type of mods will improve my hp to be equvilant to the GPX. How much will the estimate cost be? would this be a better choice or should i just get GPX?

Hmmm the Camry might feel faster, but i doubt its actually faster. The main differen't between the GR & GPX is really just the Mivec & the Brakes. I remember theres a Sydney member who got a GR that kicks everyone's butt including GPX.

So its really depends the condition of your GR & what mod you going to do.

The first mod i would do is the air-filter, it give a bit of improvement, & the next would be an exhaust, but make sure its design for N/A, & not a turbo type.

I know the GPX has mivec but when your driving the car does it feel faster than the GR? (that is if you've being in a GR before)
:)

How much you reckon the mods will cost in total?

I never driven a standard GR or GPX, so i can't give you a normal comparsion. I can only give you a comparsion, if both GR & GPX had the same mod.

Depends where you go, & what kind of material or brand you be using, the mod i mention will cost from $500-$2000.

if you are comparing the GR tiptronic to the GPX, then yes you will feel the difference... Go for the manual option, the difference will be even more significant.

yeah only get a GR if there is a significant price difference... who knows you might get a freak like the 2 examples we've seen in sydney (no apparent mods, but kicks all GPX's butt)

I've never driven a GR before, but the GPX seems to throw you back a bit when the Mivec kicks in. Go for a manual GPX!

Have a few questions, when in stock form, how much difference between the GR's exhaust note, and a GPX?

What about when fitted with the same exhaust then?
Is it true that the GR has a 7.5k redline compared to a GPX's 8k ?
