Cheap Droplinks

Post by Bennoz »

Guys, If you need a set of these, now is the time to buy:

http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m3b0s10p151

Not only are they on special, the exchange rate is almost 2:1 - and you can subtract 17.5% VAT from that price. So your looking at approx $40 Aus plus postage.

Mitsi Aus - $112 EACH... idiots.

Thats only for the rear thou. Front ones are always the same regardless of being lowered or not. GPX & vR rears are also differrent to rear lowered GR as well. Got myself thoroughly confused when ordering everything I needed for my car years ago

Right, ordered a set. Grabbed a new engine mount while I was at it  41 quid translates to a bit over $80 Aus, Mitsi Aus - $131. Gotta love this exchange rate :D

 , yeah i can see how that can be done. I have this like spring creaking noise from the front shockies when i turn slowly only happens sometimes and i thought i read somewhere that, that is cause by the droplinks, it only happened after putting in the coilovers.

I've got lowered ones on the front Ben, IIRC they are from another Japanese car, but cant remember which  I got them from RiceRocketUK on the FTOOC

I'll have a look see if I still have the packaging at home.

More than likely. Is the creaking more pronounced of a morning? Ie cold?

There's only one way to find out! Pull one out & report back in.

If the ball joints are seized or really stiff, they're shot. If the ball joints are really really loose, same story.

Trademark droplinks. Seized ball joints loosening up of a morning.

Id say it would speed up the wear on the droplinks themselves but i dont think it would any damage to anything else...... I could be wrong im just guessing

GPX not such an issue, as mentioned ^^ they will just wear quicker. GR is a different story, the rear droplinks are just a bolts & some bushes - I've bent a swaybar because I didnt put the right height ones in after lowering it.

I've checked and I have to put my hand up and admit it is only the rears which are lowered on my car. David, RiceRocketUK on the FTOOC, confirmed for me he sent out normal ones and that you dont get lowered fronts so you are the only one I know of with pukka lowered front suspension links Ben.

And only because you got them out of a DIY kit
