worthy to take on??

Post by lal »

this is just a post to determine which cars are worthy to accept/give a quick trip to the MIVEC zone challenge...

I know that my FTO can definitely take on and beat a stock 300zx.
My cousin and I performed some 'early hours experiments' and it's good to know that the FTO came through with flying colours :D

how about other V6 cars like supra? magna, commodores, 180sx, MR2 etc???
any feedback???

i know that there are cars that we can't beat... like Integra Type R.. but if you know the driver is inexperienced... it may be worth to take the chance

so yeah... taking into account the opponents car and skills, even if their car on paper should beat the FTO... which cars can we trully challenge... so a survey from ppl... telling us which cars we can definitely beat and can 'possibly beat' on a good day 8) would be good to know.

i've beaten a Soarer, Preludes, an R32 Skyline and MX6s...

I narrowly lost to an NA Supra (forget the TT) and 180SX at one stage, and i cbf'd playing against taxi mobiles... waste of time and petrol!

having said that, it is still worthwhile taking your car to the MIVEC zone, even if it means you are alone on the streets driving by yourself...

...oh, and street racing is bad for you and not condoned by this club mmmkay? ;):P

Ok some might laugh at this, but the Hyundai Coupe FX V6 (current model) worth a bit of a challenge.

i (once dreamt that) i took on a 350Z... well not a formal race, coz i first took off from the lights to gee him on... he later caught up and and cut in front of me, so then i cut out to the merging lane and nosed my way in 3-4 cars ahead to gee him up more... then later on when the lanes were free with me in the front i saw him coming on... catching up... i was doing about 80 i think... i dropped down to 3rd and floored it... the road was slightly curvy but my fto stuck to the road like glue of course... he couldnt catch me... i really was expecting to lose...

maybe next time i'll be more bold and wait til he's lined up next to me then floor it...

remember this is totally fictional.. a figment of my imagination...

hmm ive been on the other side.

ive driven a 350z track version... theyre Nice! :P gearbox is short but notchy' :?
the feeling is quite heavy compared to our light FTO's, they have 20% more power/torque.. feel wise.. but Fto's sound allot better

Tim, 180SXs do not come in NA form... they are avail in either 1.8 or 2.0l, both turbo'd... only the S13 Silvias do (the Q series).

i'm guessing the 1.8l 180SX turbo wouldn't be too hard to match up against either, unless some major mods was done to it...

ive gone against a couple of 2.0L 180sx turbos...
friends whose is pretty much stock, few runs, pretty much dead even on each instance
then later than night, serioulsy modded version blew me away...
ahhh the advantages of cheaper upgrades when your car is turbo'd....
:)
sometimes i envy them...
then i look at my 8k redline and smile

Actually, 180 SXs do come in NA form (my friend has one). As far as I know, they come in auto only though.

the S14 are pretty good.

I was coming home from tafe and saw a black jap looking car.....thought it was a celica.... it started to rev and go past me. When it came close, realise it was a 200sx and tryed to go but i was around 3 rpm, so no chance.

They are really good with mods, 2nd behind the rb25 and rb26.

had another dream.... on the way home last night... a Toyota Starlet GT was being a smart arse, showing off his BOV, changing lanes back and forth in front of me...

i tailed him for a while, got in front of him and stopped at the lights, other lanes werent free so he was right behind me... lights went green, i heard his wheels screeching behind me... i let it rip all the way to redline in 1st and 2nd... he couldnt keep up at all... maybe these things are slower than i expected??

had a few runs during my week off last week... one against an NA MR2, beat it by about 1 car lengths by the end of 3rd (i had thought they'd be quicker than that...)

few days later an R32 tried to gee me up at the lights, so i thought "yeh, why not..." he killed me by about 2 car lengths though' lol... :?

also took on a 2001 Celica dumped with kits and 18s... it looked and sounded good, but not quite quick enough, perhaps due to the weight of his ICE gear/wheels etc LoL...
