ok guys i think hes copped enough "your an idiot mate" hes obviously sorry for what he did and seem genuine when he says he wont do it again
and manofwood some telling him to buy a bike or walk to work, for 1 reason or another he may not be able to do this i.e. health problems etc, also what if he finishies work at say midnight, would you like to be walking home by yourself in the dark in the middle of no-where, sydneys changed mate its not exactly safe for anyone to do these days.
im not supporting what he did just voicing my opinion
also think about it police are people too they have their good days and bad and some people can lose it sometimes, also when taking it to court say for assault who do you think the magistrate would side with an "upstanding" man of the law or the p-plate driver driving a modified car with no license

The only thing standing up for yourself is going to get you is a can of mace emptied into your face & a boot to the ribs..I8A4RE wrote:well thats what happens when ppl dont stand up for themselves, they will continue to do it.
It's when onlookers just stand there and watch as someone gets their head kicked in by the cops that they will continue to do it.. People need to stand up for others in those situations .. same goes for any kind of violence, whether it's cops or street thugs.. people just don't give a sh*t & won't get involved these days
Not to mention if someone does have the guts to step up & do something, they're usually the only one out of a crowd & most often end up no better off than the person they tried to help..

By putting it up on a public forum he's opened himself up to being flamed .. it's the internet .. he can't expect anything less ..mr_f700 wrote:ok guys i think hes copped enough "your an idiot mate" hes obviously sorry for what he did and seem genuine when he says he wont do it again

you'll notice that I haven't called the guy stupid or any sh*t like that.. IMO he's just a young kid who made a mistake & has paid for it ... literally! 'tis a lot of money to have to fork out & quite a bloody ordeal he went through .. personally I don't think anyone should ever have to go through something as frakked up as that ... so maybe you all should lay off a bit aye?
(I don't think that badmouthing the police on a public forum helps your cause too much - yeah you get some assholes out there, but they're not all bad mate)
And I think the fine for "Not co-operating with police" is a little drastic .. but I guess we don't know all the facts .. he said that it might have been because he wasn't answering them .. but I think most people would probably react the same way in the same situation & freeze up etc ..
From the way you described it, it seemed like you got out of the car when they pulled up.. this kind of thing automatically puts the cops in defensive mode, no matter what your intentions.. considering they would have already been in defensive mode because you chucked a U-Turn & hightailed outta there the best thing to do is to stay in your car, have your licence & any other info ready & stay calm ..
Think about what you're saying mate .. yeah, cops are people too & aren't perfect and on the most part they're decent people, but if these few cops can just "lose it sometimes" and smash a young kids face into the side of their car .. or brutalise people then they shouldn't be allowed to wear the uniform - PERIOD! There's no excuse for that kind of behaviour .. the only reason for it is for them to make themselves feel powerful because they can intimidate / beat on a kid, by himself. The fact that the legal system lets them get away with it is ridiculous!also think about it police are people too they have their good days and bad and some people can lose it sometimes, also when taking it to court say for assault who do you think the magistrate would side with an "upstanding" man of the law or the p-plate driver driving a modified car with no license
Anyways.. as long as you are in your car, co-operating with all lawful & reasonable requests then there shouldn't be an issue.. find out your rights and police procedures ..
if you feel that they used excessive force or didn' conduct themselves in a manner appropriate to the circumstances, then lodge a complaint / get legal advice as someone else said .. but without witnesses or evidence, unfortunately it's their word against yours & you'll be hard pressed finding a court that will take your side over a cops
I've mentioned on the forums before about the police's rights to search your car / your person .. honestly, I'm not sure how it would hold up in court if you fought it.. I would assume that the police has reasonable suspicion that you were running from them and possibly had something to hide - so possibly were on drugs or had drugs in the car.
Under any other circumstances though, the cops would have no right to search your car without your permission, unless they had reasonable suspicion that you had illegal items etc in there (i.e. a weapon / drug paraphanalia etc in clear view or partially visible or you make comments / remarks to indicate that fact)
Pretty sure you can request that the car be inspected down at the station .. & have legal representation present if required.

lol mr-charisma i think your nets abit laggy hahas and thanks for the possitive opinions.
I dont mind what people say about what had happened to me, but i wouldnt voice this story if i was treated differently ... there are deffinately some good & kind polices out there dont get me wrong but the ones i came across deffinately werent.
to sublime19 ~ i was driving home from work saw cops and u-turn and ran off which is what i think lead the police into thinking im doing something suss therefore treating me like a criminal. Also i had my apron and jacket on front passenger seat scrunched up (kind of like those movies where your trying to hide a gun under the jacket lol) which lead the police into asking to search my car and they did so with my permission of course.
It was my first arrest ever soo i kind of froze up and didnt answer them besides that i didnt try to resist arrest or like swear at them.

Hehehehe, I love it when threads like this come up. Everyone spouting their opinions & happy to do so for 30 pages. Tempers get raised, "legal" knowledge gets tested, actualy soap boxes are stood on, the w0rd filter actually comes into play for all the obscenities
I on the other hand, am gonna grab another beer & some popcorn

@ mr c nice double post noob
@ sublime, so what your saying is because its never happened to you doesnt happen at all, c'mon are you serious
. Also we are taking this kid for face value, if hes lying then hes a twat. but i dont think that you should call him a lyer, when you dont even know him.
As for the cops, i have a lot of respect for them and think they get a lot of undeserved sh*t thrown their way, but as someone else said they are people too and are subject too all the same things we are, anger, stress, corruption etc.
There was a cop a couple of months ago who shot his wife, i personally know a boy in blue from down south and the stories i have heard, make me sick.

If that really IS the scenario, I can't believe they would do that sh*t? I know there's a lot of bad cops out there but really can't imagine a few of them being 2gether being THAT f*cked in the head? Once again, I wasn't there, I dunno exactly what happened maybe something was slightly different but if it happened exactly the way you said it, it's really f*cked, should have got their badge numbers etc but didn't think you probably wouldn't have thought of that.xSlurpee wrote:lol mr-charisma i think your nets abit laggy hahas and thanks for the possitive opinions.

So, assuming you're right - I would definitely contest that, being treated like that for no justifiable reason is complete bullshit and you don't deserve that sh*t from anybody, far less the cops. I dunno how easy that'll be for you since you're 17 and don't wanna spend extra money in contesting it..
I have to work - People on the dole depend on me.
