Gauge Brightness
I only got my FTO yesterday and its reasonably hard to define the speed and rev gauge readings when driving at night with the normal gauge lights on.
Ive been fiddling around with some of the switches but cant seem to make it brighter so if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be much appreciated
thanx

Theres a little dial on the right hand side to the steering wheel just below the dash. just turn that and it adjust the brightness. Well does on mine anyway

if you want bright, keep an eye on ebay for EL dials,
(they'll have MPH written on them but the numbers should all line up with KPH)
you can't get much brighter than those.

I'm pretty sure the ebay guy has ran out of the 180 MPH dials.. only has the 110MPH ones in stock now from what I could tell..SILVERFISH wrote:if you want bright, keep an eye on ebay for EL dials,

KMC's re-print of the 2006 dials are pretty good though.. only prob is you don't get the white inserts for the blinkers / engine warning lights etc..

Replace all the dash lights with LEDS. I think theres a DIY on here somewhere. Also get rid of the dimmer switch and just have it wired directlylwrida wrote:I'm poor and dont have this dial... What can I do other than cry about it to change the brightness

Pretty much a standard price for EL's ....
I got just a white faced dial for my old VN ages ago, and even it cost $70 ... And that was just a white face with different coloured numbers.... The ones I put into my sonata (that were EL) were $112 USD .... + delivery from PCP.com ... And yeah, KMC's were $104 delivered, due to how the Aussie goes against GBP
So if you want a cheap solution ... Get the LED globes off ebay ... The ones with a T5 fitment (I can even give you a guys name that I got mine from), and you would get them for around $10-$15 delivered ... (Think it was really only about $6)
Then it is just:
1) Pull out the cluster
2) Put them in
3) Turn the lights on
4) Pull out the culster again and change a few of the globes as the polarity will be around the wrong way
5) Put the cluster back in, and in under 20 mins you have fixed the problem ...
