yeah remove stock box (if you already havent, CBF looking at your gallery yuo didnt even do a link lol) Then use the holes that held in your stock box as a starting place for new box (eg use those same holes to secure new box). you then make your box out of cardboard as a template as its easy to cut and make adjustments.
Well thats a start anyway.
Ps what are you planning on making it out of

You need to extend the pod filter so it basically sits right above the CAI piping (right in behind the headlight (see red arrow).
The yellow wall is the most important in terms of heat transfer. I used builders insulation on the outside and windscreen sheild on the inside. (mine is a temporary box as it will all be getting changed with the turbo setup).
The purple arrow is to indicate the aircon pipe which you can easily slide a piece of metal underneath for the bottom of your box.
Now you can agrue that the box needs to be air tight and i agree for optimum performance. But just by adding a shield to protect from the radiator fan which increase performance immensly. My box is not tight (god that sounds bad) but works awesomly. I used thin alloy as its easy to bend and cut.
Heres a pic of mine, it took about 2 hrs to make and works a treat as i say make it out of cardboard first as a template.
Remember this was just temporary so dont laugh

No you dont need to put a filter at the bottom but maybe some little holes at the back bottom of the piping (down at the front bar) to allow water to drain if you go through a hole as for dirt and dust, thats what your pod filter is for. Just put the entry to the pipe anywhere at the front of the car.ok well where do i put the tubing(that is where behind the front bar) and also do you need to put a filter ot osmething at hte end of the tubing so road dus and dirt and water doesnt get sucked up the tube?
