Please help - central locking & front bar questions

central locking of my fto didnt work.....
it only lock the left door, i hv to use the key to lock the right one......

what can i do and where can i fix it...

If you have no knowledge of cars at all, then just take it too a place that install alarms and stuff. DOnt know where you are but a place like master tint, check in the yellow pages shouldnt cost more than $150 or so depending on whats wrong. If you have some knowledge and are confident, pull off your door trim and look at whats happening when you use the central locking. If nothings working at all could be that the actuator is ooted or could be a fuse.

Ill leave it at that for now, if you need any other info just let su know

i had the exact same problem !! first, try pressing the lock button twice or 3 times and see if the other door locks...didnt work ? try changing the battery in the control...this is what fixed my one...if this doesnt solve it..u might need another central locking kit..or something could simply be jamming the lock on the passenger door.

yea...it works while i press the lock on the door,
it just didnt work when i step on the brake for a auto lock while i go along(it supose to)
and it just didnt work while i press the lock button on my alarm system, the right door remain unlock.....but when i open the door, the alarm just shout out loud.....and everyone is looking at me......

then i have to turn it off, and lock the car by key.....and tuen the alarm again...

it's happen suddenly.....it's weired...

Yep, FTO central locking tends to be a bit dodgy.

Simon has the right idea - if you know about cars or you're willing to learn, take off your door trim on both sides and compare what's happening - this should give you a clue. There is a DIY somewhere about taking door trim off - search for that.

If you don't know anything about cars and don't wanna learn, crack out the yellow pages and take it to an auto electrician / alarm joint / whatever.

I'd rate pulling the door to pieces at a skill level of 2, 1 being easiest, 10 being hardest... it was the first thing I did when I got my FTO.
Depending on what's wrong with the locking, you may or may not be able to easily fix it yourself, but at least but looking first you'll be able to eliminate the easy things.

Ah mate, you just missed the DIY day!

There's talk of another sometime soon, can anyone shed more light on that?

But i'd suggest you fix your central locking sooner rather than later lol.

Seriously, find that DIY for pulling the doors apart and read it. If you understand the first 3 steps, you'll be right - then go for it

can a 95 fto change the facelifted bumper ???

cus i found a KAZE lip looks just awsome~

the makes me wanna throw my hks bumper away to have this
mine one is yellow, and i decide to paint the lip as black

That's a good question.

I'm not sure about physically changing the bar over... I can't imagine it'd be that much of a problem.

But, I do know that the facelift foglights are really hard to come across, so you might have to settle for just the indicators.

yep, a facelift front bar will still mount fine,
but the problem is the foglights and indicators needed
are a pain in the @rse (and expensive) to get hold of.

i think you can get generic trailer lights that fit,
but you'd have to do a bit of research.

if you're seriously after a facelift front bar i'm pretty
sure allure's got one in the For Sale section.

p.s. i revised your thread title for ya,
didn't seem like that much of an emergency anymore
