yes all modifications have to be removed during compliance and the car brought back to original manufacturers specifications. then the compliance workshop must destroy any after market parts removed during the compliance processGuni_GuGu wrote:Ohh... ok.. so, if i were to import her, and I can't obviously, because no one can comply them, the rims would need to be replaced? any apex controllers? AFC controllers? Exhaust? The bonnet and what about the bodykit?
Do all these things need to be destoryed?

I'm fairly certain that FTOs are still being imported and complianced in Aus, as mrdj1234 bought one around 6-8 weeks ago, that had been complianced only months earlier.
I would suggest that the reason this guy was saying it would take so long and cost so much was to try to put you off doing it.

Check out the latest HPI magazine, I vaguely remember a couple of ads advertising compliancing for the FTO and other imports.
$24gs for that car is definately overpriced (esp with the condition it's in). You'd lose $10gs the moment the car is driven off the dock. But I'm guessing this price includes compliancing, which means bringing the car back to stock. And we all know how expensive stock parts are.
That bonnet is nice though. Don't really care for the black colour, but that bonnet style is nice and subtle (ala Vanquish).
Save yourself the hassle and money and get one locally I reckon.

Yep i agree with ruchi, i'm sure someone would be able to compliant a FTO in Aus, after all theres currently around 500 workshop applied for RAW with only 5 failed so far.ruchi wrote:I'm fairly certain that FTOs are still being imported and complianced in Aus, as mrdj1234 bought one around 6-8 weeks ago, that had been complianced only months earlier.

Mind you if you had bought the car into the country & lodge the paper work in before the RAW regulation had introduced. You should still able to compliant the car with the old regulation.

Well steve u did miss it, unless is another mob Guni_GuGu got this pic fromGuni_GuGu wrote:Anyways, I found this website at Prestige Motorsport (I think they work as like a broker importer thing), and the guy Geoff said "compliance for the FTO under the new import scheme still looks to be more than 6 months away. Otherwise we could certainly assist you for your budget. Compliance is the only thing stopping us."

hehehe... got it in one... mine has the last of the dodgy compliancing.... import papers were dated 04/03 - compliance plate dated 05/03 (the last date for RAWS/SEVS as I understand it... I think under the old scheme, you only needed paperwork to get the compliance plate (or at least get a vin assigned by a compliance tester - I wonder how many other cars came in in that last little burst between April and December last year on back dated compliance.FTO338 wrote:Yep i agree with ruchi, i'm sure someone would be able to compliant a FTO in Aus, after all theres currently around 500 workshop applied for RAW with only 5 failed so far.ruchi wrote:I'm fairly certain that FTOs are still being imported and complianced in Aus, as mrdj1234 bought one around 6-8 weeks ago, that had been complianced only months earlier.
