Compliance for the FTO
As some of you may know, I've been trying to track down, the right FTO for me.. i was really keen on a silver manual one, which is well, getting pretty hard to find.
Anyways, I found this website at Prestige Motorsport (I think they work as like a broker importer thing), and the guy Geoff said "compliance for the FTO under the new import scheme still looks to be more than 6 months away. Otherwise we could certainly assist you for your budget. Compliance is the only thing stopping us."
So does this mean, no one, can import FTO's for at least 6months? Can anyone shed some lite on this for me? As, he did show me, some of the auctions they are having in Japan, and, I have to say, WOW! They're are some real nice FT's down there. And a silver manual one too!!!!

Ok i think what Geoff trying to say is that it will take him 6mths before he can get the RAW (the new compliance scheme).
It is a long painfull process, as i'm helping my mechanic to get his since last yr. I will summaries it as follow.
What "workshop' have to do is meet the ISO9001 regulation (is like a giant bible) then there will be two inspection, once they pass the inspection, the workshop then can bring one car in as an "sample" do the compliance & had the final inspection on the car & the workshop.
Once all these finish, the "sample" car become an compliance car, which mean they can start to compliance that exact model. And meanwhile they can bring other "sample" in & get it ready for compliance inspection, so its really up to the shop which car to pick as an "sample".

Has this car been in an accident? (all the XX marks at the front)
What sort of $$$ have they guesstimated for this one, to import and get on road in Aus?
It's done over 94,300 k's, so aside from compliance there's a good chance it will also need a major service.
Do you know what year it is?

getting side tracked
Lol, I you's don't even know, what it's coming with, that would be 24k on road, but it's not like any of you's could read the extra features bit... all you's read was GPX 5sp manual, and 94k's.
Let me show you a picture, then you can tell me if it's still considered a rip-off...

Now is 24 still considered a rip-off? Really? DO you even know what year the car was first registered?
Anyways, doesn't make a lick a difference, compliance for fto's, is basically impossible... so talking about trying to get this one, is just plain stupid.

Sorry to tell u this, in order to do compliance with RAW, the car had to be stock, & all the aftermarket accessories must be destroy with proof.
So basically is a waste of time looking for anything else except for a stock one.
Its illegal to keep any of those after market parts, so be carefull if they say they can keep it for you. You might end up losing your new car instead.

yes it is still a rip off, i know what price they sell for at auction in Japan
considering it is a 94 - 96 model
the front bar is damaged and part is missing
this car will sell for less than 10000 AUD FOB at auction in Japan probably closer to 8000 AUD
Any modifications would have to be taken off and replaced with original items, if there was a workshop that could comply FTO's
This would make this car more expensive again
when importing a car that is not 15 years old you want it to be as close to stock as possible, or your compliance costs will go up and you wont get the after market parts as they have to be destroyed by the workshop that complies the car when they replace them with the new original parts.
