perhaps if they made more FTO's ( newer generations and such), eclipse's and evo's they might have had a chance!

it was bound to happen dont be surprised to see the other motor companies following suit in the next 5-10 yrs. They can just produce the vehicles so much so cheaper in japan etc

Even in the V8 Supercars, the best touring cars we've got, they spend most of their time doing circle work

& If any of my mates mentioned anything about falcodores or V8 'Sooperdoopercars' I'd have to slap some sense into them with their bogan thongs

Anyways, back on topic .. If Mitsi released a car that looks like the FTO / Eclipse & Drove like an EVO (In AWD/ RWD) - then yeah, they wouldn't need to be closing down any factories .. I for one would own 1

hehe, to get the full potential out of it you'd have to rebuild the FTO from the ground up, but hey it'd be worth it

The Lotus is the ideal base for an electric car

Other manufacturers are going to have a hard time if they ever want to build one of their own, since Lotus has already done the hard yards in designing, engineering & testing to make them as lightweight as possible ..

I don't know if the TESLA would stand up to ADR scrutineering .. I mean, the whole thing is made of carbon fibre & we can't even have carbon fibre bonnets.. plus I'd hate to see these things being used in crash tests

I think I would cry..

Aren't crash tests required before a car can be imported here?

I dont know, theres ways to get around everything though, ive seen corvettes round and they are made from fibreglass. Ive also seen like 1930 cars that i garuntee havent been crashed tested.

No i dont think all cars have to be crashed tested only production cars, but im no expert so thats only my opinion

yeah, probably right .. i just think i remember reading something about some rich ass guy who imported a few of the same car, just so that he could get crash testing done or something... you could always put the electric engine in a kit car, like a GT40
