Hey, does anyone know the productions numbers for fto's that actually have numbers that say how many where produced in each individual colour? Is there such a thing? :)

hhhahahaha yeah if everyone going to list every little parts on there car, it would be easily more then d_stroy_r & like i said before, if Danny or Scracy do that, it would fill up 10 pgs.

Those equipment are pretty standard these days, at least most Vic members had the same kinda stuff if not more.

standard????

Most Fto's i see dont even have a 10th of what i have.

Don't start arguments when you can't prove yourself,k.

I know Danny and Scracy have a lot of things done to there car, they've spent most of there money on performance. My car is overall.

I was just making funny comment that even though mine is a GPX manual, it's still quite different.

You'll find that most cars on this forums are different from each other. That's where options come in =P

Posting everything just makes you look like a attention whore or a braggart, and it can rub people up the wrong way. You have to be careful about that, I don't want another incident as much as any other person =)

Anyways, I believe I know of at least another GPvR manual around, blue GPR1. (I might be wrong though, but I also thought that was manual)

I'm surprised that no one else on this forum one, they can't be that rare here??? I've really gotta keep my eye on my car if that's the case . . . (I've always taken my car for granted, this just scares me)

Hey d_stroy_r lets not get into a bitch fight again, what i mean is the mod you got are common, not the brand of stuff you got.

ruchi & mikey been telling me this all the time, i've always give ppl the wrong idea when i'm typing on msn/icq/forum.

So chill out bro & cheer up. Your stuff is still rare, but not the mod. Plus like MADFTO said, we are talking about which FTO is rare not other stuff.

And just one more thing, Scracy got a $8000-$10,000 RRP sound system in his car, with claimed 0-100 4.5sec. So I think his car is more all rounder then anyone else.

Maybe the topic should've been "How varied is varied?" rather than "How rare is rare".

Ain't nothing rare about FTOs no more. And yeah, I don't think bolt-on mods or accessories are something rare, just different.

The only things I think that could be considered rare are some of the body colours, OR the lucky few who have turbos or engine conversions.

this comment is going to upset a few.

But there is a big differance between buying a moded car that some one else has done all the mods to.

and buying a car and doing all the mods yourself.

my admiration and congratulations to those who spend the time and money to mod there cars be it performance upgrades, styling (rice), kick ass sound and video systems (ice), a really nice paint job, scissor doors and body kits, retrimmed interiors.

And the guys that buy them already done well lets just say your very lucky that some one else has done all the hard work for you.

some people dont have the time and money to do up there cars. You did (Danny).

I dont like people making comments without giving any proof, just for the argument factor.

i dont brag or bitch.....i was just made a list because everyone had things aswell. Not many people have the mods i have in my car.

I just made a general comment that most fto's are standard looking.....in wa anyways. Then theres the outstanding ones eg Danny and a couple more

I think that you would have a lot more self satisfaction in doing the mods your self, even with the limited things i have done to my car (with some helpful advice - thanks foulz!) even if that means cutting it back and polishing etc or whatever.

However if you want to save $$$ its obviously a lot easier to purchase a car with the expensive mods done already. Unfortunately most mods dont add value to the car so you can get some real bargains for someone elses work! then you can add your own personal touches!

i remember a FTO with a evo engine advertised in japan just after i bought mine, which i would have had no regrets at all in buying! however i can also understand doing it yourself would have a greater sense of accomplishment.

d_stroy_r, I appreciated the list you put up, I even looked some of them up on the net to see what they were and to get some ideas.

I think it's a pity when people get attacked for sharing things with us, and goes against the whole concept of this forum, where ideas and knowledge are to be shared and the sense of community and friendship strengthened.

I too have been on the receiving end of Kevin, and in support of me a number of people responded with comments to Kevin, saying that if he didn't like my messages that he should ignore them. Perhaps we should do the same back, if we don't like his messages, IGNORE THEM.

To quote Mikey, he's a "sh*t stirer".

How about including some limited edition FTOs in the list? Things like the Nakaya tune FTO and the COTY version. Are there any others?

Yes I'm a sh*t stirer but at least i admit it & i don't go & "attack" ppl personal life, such as their names.

You don't see politician attack each other personally in parliment, they might disagree on lots of topics, but at least they repect each other, & have the decency not to take it to personal life.

Theres two way i can look at what you had wrote ruchi.

1. Laught at it, cause is like 4yrs old teasing each other names when they don't have a come back or simply want the last word.

2. Take it seriously cause u not only offending me by publicly abusing my name, but u offended the person who named me, which are my parent. Which show what kind of respect you had for other ppl & that you don't actually think thoroughly about what you going to say.

You been telling ppl to take all the non-related topic out of the post by using PM, but i don't see you doing anything you said.

I never said anything bad about you, I'm just express my opion & u did agree that everyone had their own opion.

Like I said before, u get really upset if ppl oppose to you opion, so u just proof me right & you have to do it in a non-related post as well.

You don't see anyone put their two cents in when you sh*t stired either me, mikey or james. So give the respect like the others had give you.

And if you really want to know ruchi, lots of ppl in the forum already said u just CUT & PASTE about your info. I did disagree with them before, cause i was genuinely think that you got the knowledge & want to help ppl. But i guess i was wrong.

Its like no one had ask for this "Chief" to cook a HUGE meal for a person during afternoon tea, but all this person want is just a simple snack. Unfortunally the "Chief" get all upset & sh*tty cause he can't understand why can't everyone had a big meal at anytime & any place when the "Chief" wanted.

Look i'm not upset, cause i know you mean no harm, & just try to have some fun, but what you said was wrong by anyone standard.

GGEEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

what's happened to this post??? 8O

It was meant to just gauge what "common" FTO's are driven by all of us.
From my original post, I did mention that I'm only including the 'common' models ie. GPvR, GPX and GR (sorry I didn't include the GS, GX etc).
I also didn't get to make up a detailed combination of auto/manual (with/without sunroof etc) and didn't add limited edition like Nakaya tune etc. Especially didn't add variations... as that would make it too complicated.
I guess a separate tread can be used for that.
Remember this is just a simple poll 8)

If someone wants to create a detailed combination poll of FTO's that would be great :)

ON THE SIDE
can I just speak my mind :?:
I joined this forum late last year and have enjoyed the wealth information that i have received when I bought my FTO out of instinct (didn't know much about them, only that it was better than the CRX and MR2 I was looking at).
I've been meaning to go to the organised events etc. but something always comes up that i can't get out of

Anyways, from the last few months... there has been a lot of 'CHILDISH' (if I can call it that) behaviour that is shown by a some ppl.
If you have noticed... there has been fewer posts (by unique members)....you'll find the posts count average 'may' be the same, but it's made up of the same ppl making the posts. I know that this is a public forum and ppl can speak whatever oppinion they have... but PLEASE be considerate to others... as some ppl do get offended with what they read (even if its not directed at them).
For example, I have a few friends who owns a FTO and I spoke about this site. They said they know about it, but refuses to be part of the 'community' of FTO owners as there's lots 'intimidation' and 'swearing' on posts etc... this may not be entirely true... but I'm sure there's probably more ppl who feels this way also.

All I'm saying is... for this site to 'grow' in active members and for this site to be truly be a place where ppl feels comfortable to express their views, ask stupid questions etc... let's be considerate on how we respond/create/react/ to posts.
Hopefully, ppl will stay and create 'friendship' with other FTO owners, and not just log on to ask their question (or sell their car) and leave without contributing or getting the help they need.

I'd like to break that record of "17 members online" in 1 go, come on we have way more members than that. :)

PEACE!

Well Lal as you can see, some people give sh*t to you when you try to contribute information and also direspect your views. I always try to give my own oppinions (and offcoarse can't forget Ruchi) but we get a arguements which should not have being in the first place.

When someones says that your car is no-more modified than a normal Fto, it really pisses me off, especially when the previous owner has spent a lot of money previously with very rare items and also very high quality aswell. Sure you can bang on a steering wheel, pedals, gear knob.....and so on, but a true enthuist only buys high quality gear.

All i have to say is, Think before you write and make sure it won't insult anyone. Most people are probably too shy to post anything, because they are scared of backlash and ridicule.

*clap clap clap*

as entertaining as it is for some of us (and believe me you guys are just making yourselves look bad, altho its cool with me :) as i understand that the male ego gets the better of us sometimes) there are people coming on here for useful information who do not find it as entertaining as i do.

when we started up the fto yahoo mailing list a few years back it took off in a big way.. until things got out of hand and half the stuff said was just way out of topic. in the end some ppl ended up leaving the list as they felt it was no longer useful and clogging up their mailboxes.

what i can suggest is that moderators do their job and actually do some moderating from time to time. although personally i really dont mind, but this is a public forum afterall.

lal, I couldn't agree with you more.

Personally I'm sick of being attacked by a select few, who think it is fun to have a go at people who are legitimately trying to answer others questions. And I cringe when I see remarks like those made to d_stroy_r when all he was trying to do was share information. :(

If people can't seek answers to genuine questions without being made to feel stupid and if those supplying the answers can't do so without the fear of being attacked, then this forum loses so much of its value (which has already begun to happen).

I have made similar comments to this in a number of other threads, so I won't go on, otherwise I could receive another jab about the length and content of my messages

mate if i did my 'job', i'll be known as the "forum nazi" and believe me that's worse than being called a forum spammer LoL... you think it's easy being a mod? :P

seriously, in light of the recent 'issues', i will only say this:

DON'T TAKE IT PERSONAL

i know that threads will get clogged with non-related crap, but hey that's the internet for you... if you can find an automotive forum that is 100% filled with automotive mumbo-jumbo, i'd like to know about it myself...

until then, why don't we all exercise a little bit more tolerance, respect and sense of humor for a start ey? ;) the more you go on over petty little issues (esp publicly), the worse it's gonna make the rest of us look... so please, DON'T SCREW THE CREW. ;)

one thing to bear in mind, be careful how you word your sentence, because it can be taken the wrong way... as mods we don't want to go to the extent of telling ppl how to say things or delete posts unnecessarily, but rather we trust upon each other to have the maturity and common sense to be a responsible, active member.

PEACE! 8)

...and yes, if i don't see another post about 'rarity' from hereon, i will bring out the padlock mmmkay, so stick to the original topic! :P;):D

that sums it up :D 8) :P great... MOVING ON
back to the topic...

I have those 'crappy' tri-spoke 16" mags (sorry if anyone has them or likes them :) ) that everyone has gotten rid of coz it don't look good...
that has to be rare... :)
