New Toy

Post by Sparhawk »

I wanted to do some video's of our cruises, so I got myself a new toy. Its a waterproof hands free sports camera.

Just did a test, strapped it to my front bar with velcro (and some foam) so it was only temporary. The camera is aimed down too far, and YouTube loses quality, but you get the idea.

The camera shoots in 640x480 at 30fps. It has a 2Gig memory card, so has about 60 mins of record time. :D

Oh, and I wasnt driving REAL hard, only a little hard lol ;)

Cool, looks like it will be really good for cruise vids for sure.

I'd be cabin mounting it though so that you can cancel out the road noise and wind roar easily and get more of the the induction and exhaust noise. Unless anyone has some crazy sound editing program to clear up the sound?

Problem with cabin mounting, is you dont get the same feel, cos its further away from the road. This shows a more realistic indication of speed.

As for the noise, I think a little creative work, I should be able to get rid of the wind noise :D

OK, Ive done another Vid. This was on a cruise down to Victor Harbour. Ive edited about 8 minutes of footage. Let me know what you think.

Thanx to TCGPX for being conveniently in camera shot the whole time lol

My pleasure, LOL.

These cameras definitely have some potential. Gotta get me one :D.

BTW, Here's the pics of the camera mounted. Pretty subtle really...
