Temperature problem

Post by pimped »

Hey guys!

I just noticed today that my temperature guage doens't work properly. When the car is on an angle or if I rev it pretty hard, it will register the right temperature. Otherwise it will just stay at the "C" section.

I checked the fuses and they all seem ok. The thermo fans still turn on. It's just the guage on the dash that doesn't work.

Could this have anything to do with a faulty rediator cap?

Anyone had this problem before?

If its not the gauge itself (which I've never heard of failing) then it'll be the sender unit which is located near the thermostat. (Blue arrow)

damn, that looks hard to get to. I think I'll leave it to a mechanic. Thanks Ben!
