A bit late in the day
but if it;s the CV joint and there's no noise coming from it then don't worry for this week end . But book it in for a new boot next week.

is it oil or grease?

If it's grease it just needs a new cv boot because the current one is cracked.

If it's oil I'd be more concerned, have you checked the oil level in the gearbox? No oil should be getting into the CV boot because the drive shaft should seal the gearbox end. Maybe a leak from the Brake Master Cylinder? It's in about that area, but up high on the firewall of course

I'd take it back to the place you got it done. Maybe it was a dodgy boot, or someone pinched it and managed to split it when they put it on. I've done it myself before, is a pain in the arse.
