Post by desi »

hi im new, only brought my fto yesterday.

i was just wondering if anyone knew about this problem.

the air con works but only on the window, feet, and side vents.
the center and side center dont blow no matter the setting.

it sounds to me like you have a problem with your inner vents not opening and closing as they should.

i'm not sure how to fix it personally but im quite sure that's what your problem would be.

just take it to a air conditioning specialist and they should sort it out no problems.

by the way.............welcome to the club. :D

I had this after I fitted my heater matrix. I had forgot to put the connection to this motor back in.

I dont have a pic but its on the drivers side behind the center console.

Don't wanna repost it, but have given you some things to check ... Not a hard problem to fix... The controller you are after is on the drivers side.... Too bad I can't show you ...

it seems there is a large pipe missing from the fan bow(where the air comes out) to the actual front vents....

does anyone know of this piece, how to get it or why it is missing???

the fan box does have air coming from it, but with out the pipe it cant make it to the vents

cheers

Someone has probably taken the dash out and forgotten to put it back in.

Im pretty sure I have that bit (its a black plastic part that sits on top of the bit in your picture and feeds into the ducting that goes to either side of the car -and the centre vents too) in my shed down the coast if you end up needing it ;)

NO, thats the channeling you can see in the pic. The connector for the motor which changes the airflow to the centre vents iis at the drivers side of the white box you can see.

Try changing the air flow with the aircon unit and listening closely. You should hear motors whirring as they open and close flaps. If you cant hear it when you try to put it to the cntre vents then that motor isn't working, either it's broken or it isn't connected.

What pice do you mean, the channel for the centre vents is staring out at you. Your vents should slot back into it when you replace the upper central console bit.

Strange... All my posts from the other day have gone...

Anyway, there is meant to be a black bit that clips into the white a/c box... I will take a photo of it today ...

Yup, sorry but when I rebuilt mine last year I forgot to put this bit back in so it looks like someone has done the same with yours. It basically channels the air up to the vent piipes for the screen and dash.

I drove from Scotland to London and back in the pissing rain without it in but replaced it when I got home again.
