Stereo DIN blanking

Post by testlabmonkey »

Hey guys looking for some inspiration for the blank DIN under my stereo. Was thinking of a painted custom aluminium cover plate with some mild lighting behind it... just wondering what other people have done for some ideas. (also somewhere to get such a thing made)

I'm yet to do it, but some friends have. Get to panles of perspex and get a sticker made up with whatever you want on it, mostly black with some light lettering for instance and stick it between the perspex sheets then light from behind. Looks pretty good in my experience. Please post up some pics of whatever you end up doing anyway.

if you're running a DVD or 5.1 channel head unit,
i HIGHLY recommend getting a single din centre speaker.

it has the same purpose as the centre speaker on
a home audio set-up, and fills the gap nicely.
should be able to pick up a generic model for around $100
i'll take a pic of mine today for ya ;)

You know what I AM getting sick of watching movies inside the house. I might scrap the home theatre plans and just watch movies in my car :P.

To think of all that wasted time watching the road while im driving....
