Replaced these on my daughters GR with the help on Bennoz's excellant How To BUT
still very noisey, only run it for a couple of seconds so stripped it down again to check everything looks fine. I even soaked the new tappets in a bath of oil & when installed squirted oil into the hole in the middle of each tappet.
So my question is does it take a while for the new tappets to bed in & quieten down?
Replaced GR tappets- still noisey?

Yeah it does take some time. Probably about a week of daily driving to work etc which included a dozen or so cold starts before they bed in properly. After that it was silent, as if it were brand new
On the day I did them, I left the car running for a couple of hours too, after that they were at a point where they were about the same as they were prior to replacement.

Thanks for your reply, I was really worried I'd done something wrong, stripped it down again to make sure it was OKBennoz wrote:Yeah it does take some time. Cheers mate & thanks for the write up. I couldn't have done it without that & also a strong flexible magnet that I used to insert the rear rocker arms
