hey, i have got the same problem.
it wasn't doing it before i got the pads replaced, after i got it replaced it's got the noise you guys are talking about........
it's not like a squealing noise, but like grinding like described above......
This grinding noise sounds like the noise I get from my rears when I try and pull up. If it is a harsh metalic grinding noise it might pay to get it checked by a mechanic. I know my brakes well and have checked over and over again to find no problem. I've since found the noise comes from the pad and piston pulsing or vibrating against the disk. Some people have tried to fix it by putting anti squel on their brakes but it usually doesn't stop the noise for long, I've been told by a lot of mechanics who are mates that your pretty much stuck with it, sorry.
Yeah I think the FTO brakes often suffers a bad case of shakes, especially at high speeds. Maybe this is where a brake master cylinder kit would be able to help.
I had my pads replaced not too long ago and they're making the same noise. i spoke to the guys who did the work and they said bendix has recently stopped using a particular material(asbestos i think) and are having problems with noise etc. Go see your mechanic and see what they say. Mines going in as soon as i get the chance
Jase what your saying is correct bendix no longer use asbestos as a friction material as it has health issues for its employees. Some pads do make a grinding noise because of the material used in their construction bendix metal kings are notorious for this.Im using bendix ultimate pads and rda slotted discs and have had no problems with sqeeling or grinding noises what so ever. Part of the problem is that many car owners (us included) dont know how to properly "bed in" a set of brakes. Oh and Dtrain i would be checking that your discs are ok as i suspect your brake problem is due to warped discs

not all FTOs shake at high speeds, only the ones with warped rotors.

better get it checked out soon....
Mine does that too. Though it's at the front. It only started happening after the brake pads got changed from the last service. Only happens when I brake slowly while waiting at the lights or something or driving really slowly then stopping.
I was told that it could be the brake pad material. A metallic compund lasts longer but makes noise???
Gonna get it checked it out today. Been putting it off too long...
