Need For Speed Pro Street

Post by Shahrez »

Just got this game a few days ago and i have to say, this is probably my favourite out of all the NFS titles. It has an amazing level of detail and customisation not to mention endless options! Sound, graphics, everything is top notch! I only wished that you could drive the cars around the city area like NFS Underground! Other than that, its spectacular! oh and i play it on my laptop! Runs wicked!

Here is a pic of my evo which iam working on to challenge RYO the showdown king! lol

I finished this maybe 3 or more weeks ago, (thanks internet!) and whilst its good, its a little off. They could have made an absolutely awesome game, but it was still off in terms of gameplay. The handling of the cars a lot heavier, and the storyline mode was really flawed. I took down Ryo after only 34% of my career was complete, you don't have to go after the other showdown kings before Ryo, so I just went straight to him and won.

Drift mode is completely wrong too. You would think they would judge by the speed and angle of attack, but in fact its how LONG you can keep the drift, so if you're ever having trouble just go slow as all hell but keep sliding, you get a LOT of points.

Customisation is alright, but aside from the camo vinyl I couldn't really pick a good layout for my car, I didn't really like most of the designs. Its probably my 2nd favourite of the NFS series after Underground 2.

oh, heres my evo: (all images resized from 1600x1200)

i definately agree with you on the drifting issue. It says that the sharper the angle and the faster the speed, the more points you get. But when you get on sharp angles, there is no such point gain! The only thing which is still bugging me at the moment is the lift off timing at the drag strip.

I know it's only my 5th day on the game but iam trying to figure out how to get the ultimate lift off. Its hard to rev till the green zone, shift and at the same time waiting for the light to go green!

By the way, your evo and gtr looks mint! I'll put up the pics of my other cars a bit later! Did you play around with the tuning option much?

Yeah I've tuned them, but only with the evo and the supra. For drag, its very very beneficial to make your tyres nice & soft and change the suspension setup.

The drags annoy the hell out of me with the having to shift into first at the exact same time as putting the power down. There's no clutch option that I can see so you have to just slam it into first as soon as it goes green. :? I've done plenty of false starts trying to properly anticipate the timings. Later on though you get some absolutely ridiculous times with your cars, for instance I'm pulling a consistent 7 second pass every time with that Supra.

The difference between what we do and what we are capable of doing would suffice to solve most of the world's problem.

This game is fkn awesome, i have a mad zonda and viper and evo X, supra for drift.

and the reason why you cant drive round on the road is because thie game encourages you to "take the racing off the streets", didnt you read the opening message?

no grip car can beat my evo X.

should we start a comp?

fastest 1/4 mile, photographic evidence only.

I would, but the game is dodgy as hell and doesn't work most of the time, shows what EA produces.

I have a screenie of a 7.09 on the 1/4, that will have to do me for now.

I've done a 6.91 but I think thats the absolute best time I can pull from my Supra. I'm thinking about making another car for drag but don't know which one I should use.

can do a 6.2 in the NSX

chevelle is also good, viper is good in anything, but the R34 can be tuned to be the best...

though im using a zonda atm.
wind tunnel tuning helps so much once you get used to how it works

You need to have a powerful enough car. It will automatically do a wheelie when its powerful enough, and just watch the shifts.

you need to use an old school car like the chevelle and tune it soft in the rear, change the gears so you run it through the gears quickly, leave a gap for your last shift so you can nos during it

you don't even need to tune it, you need enough horsepower first of all, thats why I didn't reply at first.
