hey man, u cant blame that guy
if u want somethign to be perfect fit, it takes R&D
he can always said yes he can do it and give u something that is not perfect fit....
if u know what i mean...
and if he have done previous ftos, chances are it sjust a custom one off job without any details recorded,
past ride : FTO gpx with lots of bling bling
Current ride: EVO 8 with the MOST CARBON IN AUSTRALIA....206KW AT ALL WHEELS

eh, just seems common sense to me to at least keep measurements for any job you do, whether its a custom job or not.. 'tis as simple as jotting down a few notes / diagram & putting it in a file.. even include a rough estimate of costs..

yeh my mate was just looking into it for me.

but i thought it would have been straight forward to make it.

i'll give it a go at making it myself.

i'm just going to buy 2 x 90 degree silicone bends and attach them to a piece of piping, i'm just confused when it comes to making a box for my pod filter :?

Here are some links to what you will need to make one up yourself;

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/45Deg-3-Polished ... dZViewItem
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SILICONE-SILICON ... dZViewItem

And depending on what inlet size your new pod filter will be (guessing 3") but if you get a bigger inlet size you will need to get a Reducer (3" to a 3.5" or bigger)

http://cgi.ebay.com.au/SILICONE-SILICON ... dZViewItem

Alternatively, you can source the same bends from Supercheap in Rubber rather than silicon, but it will probably be roughly the same price

And just to complicate things a little bit (but it will be well worth the extra effort);

Also, the metal piping can be substituted for plastic / rubber / flexi pipe etc.. could even use some PVC piping from Bunnings..

You could use 3.5 - 4" piping rather than 3" stuff if you get an air filter with a 4" inlet ... you'll have a reduction to 3" at some point before it gets into the TB, so some people think bigger piping won't make much difference..

I just remembered that set up is for a GPX. A GR will need shorter piping, 'can just cut the metal piping if you go that route... or just use the stock rubber pipe & cut it after the flex join before the point where it starts to get smaller..

LOLs watta convo. funny sh*t though.
i rkn he need the car there to get an correct messurement.

coz i spoke to some dude who makes custom aluminium radiator and he said i need to leave the car there so they can do it.
but i told him i needed the car and he said well u can come in for like 10mins also so he can do the messurements and then takes em 3 weeks to make it.

so im guessing the intake will also need to me messured up n then made. but proberly take abt 2hrs also.
:)
