Fixing a Gear Box $4000 :S??

Hey all, i've been to 2 mechanics and they both said it will cost around $3500 to $4000 to fix the torque converter for my Tip Box
is this a normal price :S???

Yeah it s a normal Price if you go to a mechanic who has an expensive mistress :D

wow wish i did this in the first place!
he said he will send it to melb to get reconditioned for $360
and the labor is about $400 :D
$150 shipped down to Joe and ricks on Tuesday or Wednesday :D

god damn wish i did this before :(

ummm still don't know about keeping it... pretty keen on a new car :) might come back to the FTO :)
