Mercury Rising

Post by SchumieFan »

so last weekend we were out on the boat, about 15nMiles out to sea when the water.... ummmm.... the only way i can explain it is it turned to mercury...
we already felt pretty unsure as we were heading straight into a thunderstorm (big nautical no no) and the sea was just incredible, the storm broke up, the sea changed and it looked flat everywhere but we were getting pounded!
then this massive albatross flew past us, (again big nautical no no!) but we kept going.
got to about 50nM out to sea, started fishing and the sea turned so choppy we had to turn back or we might not get back!
so we went fishing along the coast, again, sea was choppy so we anchored to avoid being pushed onto rocks...
anchor broke and we WERE pushed onto rocks, snapped a trim tab and broke the stern leg on the motor, no hull damage luckily! total insurance quote, $8500
it also took us about 3 hours to get the boat out of the water because some knob jockey parked his boat at the wharf and we couldnt get off the boat to get the trailor because we had no reverse on the boat cause of the damage!

and we didnt catch one fish!!!! Cursed i swear!
