ah ok fair enough

I guess it must be the insurance company. I have 2 cars, one pretty modified and the other only slightly (FTO) and with just cars neither value went up with modifications, only my premium. Reminds me I must change to shannons when I turn 25 next year

Hmmm ... I want to go with Shannons... But I have to wait about 1.5 years, as it has not been 5 years since I lost my licence... :(

Fair enough. Although I wouldn't really call my Laser a real modified car.....

But agreed. Was impressed with Shannons when I first got my FTO but was told to wait until I was 25. Only a few months now and my insurance renewal is up shortly after my birthday so I will be going shannons.

when i was looking for insurance, i checked shannon....then the guy asked me: "have u own another performance car before", "have u done any advance driving course before", and some other sh*t questions like that. and my answers to them were "No". Then the guy said "i am sorry, but we only insure car enthusiast, so i cant help u". i was like WTF

anyway....when my insurance due, might give them a call again...and see what they say this time...

btw, anyone here insured with Young & Cool, anyone knows what they are like (in terms with insured car value & premium) with modified cars?? :?:

Young and cool are now "famous car insurance" ... Their website still works for the moment ...

They are very restrictive... E.g. Car has to be off st parked, like a garage, but at worst a car port... I think this is even if you stay at a friends house for the night ...

3 point or maybe 4 point immobiliser has to be installed, and I have actually found that GIO (their custom cars division) is cheaper... I have my FTO with them...

1997 - Insured for 15k, mods listed as exhaust, CAI, and RIMS.
Driver history - Licence lost speeding 3 year ago
1 at fault accident about 4 year ago (6k damage)
Full no claim bonus
+ bonus protection
I am 29 this year (November)

2.2k ... And they do a discount for the greenslip, which went from almost $500 to $400ish ...

Richy, with Shannon's tell them that your a member of FTO Australia. I think Kev (FTO338) mentioned that previously.

Plus with Shannon's you need to have a lock up carage otherwise no no.

Yep tried that ... But as stated above, had lost my licence in the last 3 .. Shannos don't like you when that happens... I think they wont insure you if you lost the licence in the last 5 years...
