First day I bought my car ... driving it back from the sunshine coast that afternoon ... flooring it, only to realise that it was being rev limited & mivec not kicking in ...

Second day I had my car .... Alternator died completely on the way home from work ... Had it fixed, but still rev limited & no Mivec ...

2 years & probably almost $1k later ... Finally diagnosed the problem properly thanks to FTO Aus & FTOOC & booked in to have it fixed .... Alternator replaced, Air Intake Control valve position sensor replaced ... Got MIVEC working again!!! :D Best feeling in the world after driving around for so long without it .... OOhhhhh THAT SOUNDDDD!

Aaaand ..... all the times I've cheated death because the FTO is such an awesome handling car...

Driving home form picking up my car in Sydney (to Rockhampton). Raining the whole way and finding out that my new pride and joy lift off oversteers like a MOFO on wet down hill bumpy left handers

Although all the rain and road works on the way lead to 3 bottles of bug and tar remover and a lot of polishing over the following 6 months to get all the tar off 8O :(

1st: I second the above quote.
2nd: Sliding in the dirt on the Fto cruise to wisemans ferry at 80km's around a corner after concertrating on a bull of all things and worked my way out of it.. First "drift"
3rd: 3 days after buying the Fto, smashing it into 2 other cars doing about 50km's and realising that she don't have abs or traction control as stated..

6 months after i bought the car, when the warranty was gone, i went to get my new wheels fitted and they said i had a bent subframe.

went to the mechanics to get it fixed and i thought all was good, until i got 'the phone call'.

i had a crack in the engine block which was ireversble and needed a new engine/block.

the good news is that i have a new block going in sometime in the next few weeks and i have new gaskets, fluids, sparkies and belts. So all will work out in the end.

it's just costing me about $3500 before i can even start to moddify it.

Well, I have not had the FTO for long, but an unforgetable moment for me has been getting it up to 150-160 k/ph ... With the G4 coilovers in, this was such a smooth ride at this speed ...

I was really happy with the feel of the car ... It didn't even feel like I was driving that fast .. Mind due, I still hard cars overtaking me at this speed, which made it feel even slower ... 1 of them was a mini cooper s, that was flying ... This was on the track of course...

For me, it's a moment I want to forget but my gf keeps reminding me and making jokes about it ... it's not what you think.

Driving along heading from Moorebank to Chipping Norton, this little shouts out, "Hey dad! it's Bubble Bee!!", of course the gf starts lauging. I so wanted to spin the car around and run the kid over, but i didn't coz it's illegal.
