Aftermarket Taillights

Does anyone know where i can source a set of Aftermarket taillights (tinted, altezza etc) for an FTO ?

I've been looking but have had no success.

Also been trying to find pics of FTO's with aftermarket lights if anyone can send me a link.

Check the FTOOC UK forums for DIY rear light tinting ...

basically, spray the inside of the rear lights so that you keep the glossy look rather than satin/matte that you usually get spraying the outside of the rear lights... less attention from cops that way + still looks diff.

Brutus from the UK makes custom rear lights, if you do a search in the styling section, or for posts by him you will come up with some pics of some of his rear lights... but just cause i'm so damn nice, here they are;

Dunno how much these would be to get made - Maybe $500 - 600 AUD + postage unless you DIY

those lights would be easy as pie to make! you can get those lenses anywhere, all you need is a bit of initiative and creativity. they're easy to tint as well, dont waste your money on project f.
go to autobarn, hand over $17 for a can of nightshade tint, and spray them from the inside.
cops are too dumb to know the difference because it looks 'normal' from the outside. if you want instructions, pm me.

no, pretty much impossible.
expect to pay $1000 and UP for project F lights. best thing to do is just forget about rear lights and get a body kit.

light still gets through the lenses no problems at all. just takes a bit of patience to get through the glue holding the lense and housing together

Similair to mine... $20 for the paint...

Illegal as hell.. some cops pick me up for it... some dont...

Clear lights are nice on the right car... but rare as rocking horse sh*t...

Last set of Project F's i saw went for $1,600...

are yours sprayed on the outside? they look like it...

are the ADR's against tampering with lights completely, or are they lenient with light vision-distance reg's (must be able to see brakelights at 100m example)?

i'd never waste that much dosh on an accessory. what was going through that buyers head at the time of purchase?!

I think the ADR is that you are not allowed to tint... The actual law is something like must be a certain brightness from 100m, and the reflector must not be tampered with or removed...

The thing with most aftermarket Alteza style lights, is that there is no red reflector which makes them illegal ... But if the reflector is on the rear bar (like some commodore's and hyundai's) there is no need for the reflector in the lens...

I remember reading about it on the RTA website... I use to carry it around in my car as I night shaded it, and use to fight with cops about it... I got stronger globes, and tinted the lens except for the reverse light part, and masked off around the reflector... Needles to say, I never got booked...

Looks like it's down to Autobarn to get some Nightshade.

I think i will spray a couple of coats on the inside as the outside looks very matt and very dark.

how to do what? the tinting? From memory the UK site (www.ftooc.org) has a few guide on it in the Greasemonkey section of their forums...
