Although he's sometimes useful, Mikey turns a lot of threads into private joke spaces :wink: . He has to keep up his average daily post count above 6 :lol:

<must not type something stupid>

back on topic a while back i looked at doing an aero top conversion (like the supra aero top) to the FTO using a titanium roll cage (to keep it small and not so visible inside the cabin). was looking at an opened ended cheque somewhere between the 5-10k mark including engineering of course.

a targa top conversion would be of a similar price. the biggest concern is chassis flex due to the reduced structual integrity of the roof. you need to strengthen the roof using a roll cage and the chassis with cross members.

unfortunately when my computer crashed all the research i did on this topic went with it. :cry:

I have been qouted $1400 for a sunroof in melbourne for my FTO, My roof has a dip in it. I can't remember the name of the place, but it was just off Camberwell rd in Hawthorn East. :)

yeah matey, that'll be much appreciated. if it is do-able, then you might have saved hundreds (if not thousands) of grieving FTO fanatics like me who regret not having a sunroof in my car LoL...

thanks champ! :D

And can you see if there are other branchs like in Sydney where Sydney siders can go.
And if they do, see if you can link them all together and get some kind of a deal.

Thanks a lot!!!

The place is called Ultra Cool Sunroofs & Trimming, the address is 1 Mayston Street, Hawthorn, Vic, 3122. Ph 03 9882 9415, 03 9882 9423 or mobile 0417 858 009. Ask for Chris. I got two prices for two different size sunroofs.

The first is called the MR300, This sunroof is a is smaller in width but the owner Chris said this will fit without any problems. The price for this is $1350 fitted.

The second option is called the 860 Emerald, this sunroof has a lot lager glass then the MR300, Chris told me that this sunroof will look a lot better because the size of the cabin of the FTO. But he has to take off the cabin trim to see how much space there is. This sunroof cost $1200 fitted

Chris told me to get the 860 Emerald if it fits properly in the FTO.

As for the Dip in the roof, Chris will add a silicon seal to match up from the body to the sunroof.

If anyone is interested drop in or give Chris a call. :D
