Anyway yes i've tried it, but not in a FTO and no i didn't find any different in any of my cars either. I know one member did, but it was on his Sky.line.
I hope no one here going to say they find a different with just one tank, because you will need around one tank before the ECU can adjust to the new fuel and around 3-4 tank to clean out the old fuel residual.

Nope, haven't tried it & will never be putting any Shell fuel in my car again.
I was running BP Ultimate for over a year, but after switching to Caltex Vortex 98 I noticed a big difference in how well my car ran compared to the BP Ultimate...
I use it every tank full from the first day I picked up the FTO from the last dyno day we had I could not get any so I put 98 in and dropped 5kws. for my car.
98 fuel = 106.8kws, 100 fuel = 111.5kws. just my opinion but I think its ok, and the best thing every time you go to fill up you know what its going to cost you as the price dos not change unlike the other fuels going up and down all the time
but its up to the user if they think its justified to spend the extra $ for that little gain in kws
just my 2c
I used to only use BP ultimate but recently decided to give VPR a go. Well, imho i can feel the difference (and it's actually quite significant). I mean...Aza 's dyno's show 5kw atw gain from VPR, which is the same as chucking on a piggyback (which is a fair bit for an fto). Basically feels like the whole power curve has moved up a bit. My mate also felt the difference, and so did my dad.
Another interesting symptom is it also uses more fuel with VPR. And this wasn't a one off. Have been noticing it for about 3 weeks now. I'm guessing more power is more air and fuel going into the engine, meaning slightly worse fuel consumption (driving habit remaining unchanged).
Most increases in octane will give a power boost, but at what cost? I dont care that the experts say 5% ethanol is safe to use in any motor vehicle, 0.1% ethanol is too much as far as Im concerned. Say hello to petrified fuel lines, valve seals & any other rubber component in the fuel system....
You want good fuel, go get yourself a CAMS licence, then apply for a Race Fuel Passbook.
Then you can drive out to your local air strip & fill up on 110 octane av-gas.

out of curiousity how much is the 110 octane juice?
