MIVEC Conroller? Is there such a thing...
I've heard of Vtech controllers and i was wondering if there was a similar product for FTO's or mitsu's in general?

get one
and get it tuned and set mivec to 5900RPM you will get a gain in your power and it will take out the speed limiter as well.
If you tune the car and run V power racing you will get a gain of any were from 3kws to 9kws.
I know this as I have one at first it was S**T as it was not set right so you need to have it set at the right point.
as for were to get them from I could not tell you as it came with the car

lol no doubt he did the work, but what work.aza013 wrote:first pic was a different dyno at different place.
so if that is not enuf for you you can ring pulse racing and talk to Paul on 95435007 and he will tell you him self as he did the work for me (tune and set controller up)
you realise that by adjusting the mivec point your really only adjusting when the high speed cams come in...you still redline at the same point. Unles you have a piggyback or new ecu, nothing will change at the max point the map is exactly the same...unless u have a AFC.
Few questions :
manual?
what controller did you/they use:
Data Systems Model MVC85X
RSpec - MIVEC Data Systems Model MVC86X
RSpec - MIVEC Ducatro
what are they tuning if you have no mods? sounds like you have a piggy back like and SAFC, if not they didnt tune anything (as unless they did a repmap, they cant tune anything)

Model : Rspec MVC85X
Manufacture : Data Systems Co.LTDJapan FPRIVATE "TYPE=PICT;ALT=Mivc Conrroller
as for tuning a full dyno tune thats all I can tell you

Unless you have a AFC or new ecu then there is nothing to tune - except chnage the plugs. I havnt seen ayone here re-map the FTO ecu before either.
I would expect about 100kw atw with a manual and just a simpe zorst mods. 103 is about right.
112 with no addition mods, except upping the mivec point 400rpm is rubbush. Adjusting the mivec point, may, help with a fatter curve throught he changeover point, however once it does change, the timing, AFRs etc still come form the standard map, hence its the same.
You could argue by upping the mivec point 400rpm u are hitting MIVEC SLOWER and going slower as a consequence (from a 0-100 perspective)

mate that doesnt prove anything. You can even tell me what you mods are or if you have a AFC. I'd say you were taken for a ride. Its easy to adjust dyno outputs to get bigger numbers.aza013 wrote:well the DYNO sheets are there and it shows it so its not rubish as you would put itlol
Mate we have done this before, your not the first FTO owner to think of this.
THink about it first, dont think by some magic adjustment which doesnt adjust anything but the cutover point you gain 10kw atw. I'm the one LOL
But I would believe it if he adjusted your AFRs via some kinda of AFC. And again it has nothing to do with the Mivec point.

look if you would like to come and check out the car feel free or give Paul a call for your self its up to you.
like I said there is no modes on the car apart from the controller that I can see.
also if you can put up some proof to say they dont work feel free to do so as well.
but to get back to topic its up to you if you want to get a controller I say it works and others say it dosnt so there you go

Trying to give him advise based on knowledge rather than some guy told me so. My guess you have a AFC and he tuned that cos I believe the result..aza013 wrote:look if you would like to come and check out the car feel free or give Paul a call for your self its up to you.

Point is the results may be true but its not from changing the mivec point. The MVC85X is a basic unit, see link below for anyone who is intrested.
http://www.derestricted.net/common/mods ... /MIVEC.htm
However changing the MIVEC point will not bring any more power regardless of how many times we talk to Paul, and he know it also.
Without mods no more power unless you have more air and fuel, simple as that.
Changing the MIVEC point up means u are on the low speed setting for longer? I would rather hit MIVEC earlier rather than later!

ok I got the PM and thanks but I did already have that info.khunjeng wrote:I hope the PM helped!! cheers.
I just got back from pulse racing and asked Paul what he did to get the power gain and he said "all I did was change the mivec points via the controller" there was no changing of ECU,no remapping anything like that just set the controller to 5900RPM.
so with that info and the dyno sheets that backs up what I said the mivec controller works.
and I would like to say at this point I am not trying to be a smart ass just trying to give the information I have on this topic
