FTO reliability.

Post by kayarubin »

hey guys! just wondering how reliable the old 6A12 engine is after 200,000 kays. what are the main problems that occur with them? as in rings, bearings, anciliaries on engine, etc... also how are they on long ass trips? are they prone to overheating or anything? as i'm thinking of driving up an fto from down south to darwin...... 8)

any advice would be much appreciated! :D

It should be fine as long as it is well maintained, good oil, regular coolant change etc.

regular change of these fluids prevents premature wear on parts like the water pump, rings and bearings.
