Well im getting custom pistons and blueprinted and balanced engine...
And i dont think they'll make an ounce of difference...
Untill i whack 16psi of boost up its guts.. lol
Balancing just makes it run smoother.. Good for my engine as i want longlivety... Flat top pistons and blueprinting... dont bother...
Mines only being done for strength... They're more reliability/strength mods... engine will last a bit longer but wont make an ounce more power.

Balancing, blueprinting and pistons WILL make more power
But not anywhere near enough to make it worthwhile
I got my engine balanced for smoothness (was apart anyway) and didn't bother blueprinting as I was confident Mitsubishi had done a good job on the tolerances
Also, high comp pistons will increase power, but more so with forged pistons, rods, bolts etc you'll be able to rev the engine much higher, so with other work you can produce massive amounts of power at 11,000rpm

Ahhh righto...
So will mine rev higher??
I spose mods that affect it are:
Forged pistons and rods (9:1 CR)
Bore'd and honed block (damn W0rd F1lter)
Honed crank tunnel
Blueprinted
Decked block
Lightweight Flywheel
6a13tt Cams
ARP Head stud kit...
Will that let me rev higher?? (had a arguement on the weekend over this..)

You gotta do rod bolts and main stud bolts, and considering things like valves, retainers etc are done, as well as belts and pumps can cope then it could rev higher, but at that stage you'd need better synchro's etc so your gearbox can handle itFtoSam wrote:Ahhh righto...

Why do internals and not just use a 6A13TT?
Without boost, 9:1 CR will rev less and make less power
Considering it will run boost, and is FWD, there is no need to rev it hard, as you'll make more than enough power with the standard rev range
If you are going the boosted root, I strongly recommend 4G63, as considering you are going to use 6A13 cams, then you don't have MIVEC, and at this stage all you will have is a heavier engine with less aftermarket which hasn't proven itself like the 63 has

WEll mainly because things have just gotten out of hand.
Started off just simple turbo... then needed new fuel system, then needed this,, then that, etc...
If i'd have had my time again i wouldnt have started... or just whacked a 6a13 in...
i was never planning to forge, etc... untill i needed a rebuilt motor anyway.
