DOn't konw about my fto yet, it aint got any engine atm, but we built a scooter with a mitsusbishi!!! "wippa-snippa" engine on it and did the quarter mile in 45.3 seconds today too!

Modifications included:

Tearing off the baby air filter!
Adding about 10 drops of methanol, this thing screamed!!
And no brakes, cause they rubbed against the wheel!!

:) I"m a kid again!!!!!!!

nothing official here, but below are just my guesstimates:

1. MADFTO (NA 6A12 MIVEC 5-spd GPvR): high-14s -> flat 15
2. scracy (turbo 6A12 Mivec 4-spd tip GPX): low-mid 14s
3. dannyboyau (turbo 6A13TT 5-spd manual): mid 13s

as for stock-std FTOs, i have a video of a GPvR doing 15.412s and a GPX clocking in 15.327s over the qtr mile (both manuals vs the Teggy-R)...

makes you think, doesn't it...

...i guess it also depends a lot on driver skills hehe

1/4 mile

Post by bulldog »

I had a few runs in my stock 5spd manual GX (non-mivec) a couple of months ago and my best run was 16.06. I hope to get under 16 next time I go if it's a cooler night, especially now that I have a bit more of an idea what I am doing.

That's a top range figure, HEK-71Q...
Is yours manual or tip? What mods you have at that time?
Just curious, where did you do it? on track? If it was on road, how did you know it is 1/4 mile?

I have a accelerometer, a Race Technology AP22. It was 15.14s for a 1/4 mile and 7.23s for 0-60 on the same run. I have a GPX manual with ITG filter and cat bypass. The car has been on a rolling road and the peak ATW hp is 162 (it has been on three times getting 155, 159 and 162) which is very close to the below figures. This was done on a private road of course :D

60 ft 2.39s 0.48g 30.7mph
330 ft 6.49s 0.28g 58.6mph
1/8 Mile 9.84s 0.19g 74.5mph
1/4 Mile 15.14s 0.05g 92.4mph

0-60mph 7.23s 0.28g 348ft

Pk Power: 90.8mph 14.06s 1174ft 160hp
Peak G: 21.9mph 1.59s 29ft 0.55g

One of the guys over here in the UK has run 14.452 (see HERE) in his GPX with just filter & exhaust mods - his cars known as 'the freak' :)
Quite a few regularly run very low 15's - plenty being around 15.01 etc. & a few have just broken into the top 14's...
(all NA cars)

that's not quite what I expected considering the amount of mods done to your car...

ye, i know

i'm doing the drags for auto salon, so i should improve my times.

The main problems was the tyres, any launch above 2.5k rpm resulted in massive wheel spin.
