Traffic light Penalty for learner

Post by IvanTung »

What is the Penalty for travel through a intersection in a red light condition WHEN the driver is a LEARNER? I have been taken a photo by the automatic Camera this morning 3:00am. Is it very serious?

Pretty sure its the same as any other type of licence holder...

Say goodbye to 3 points & say hello to a $300+ dollar fine.

Don't worry, people in jail won't ask you to pick up the soap these days, they just use the shower gel as a form of lube instead :twisted:

On a more serious note, I think one of two things can happen;
Either a) you'll lose 3 points personally (and as learners don't have 'points' per-se, that means licence loss) or
b) whoever was the instructing driver at the time will take the 3 points.
I'm pretty sure it'd be b, I know that's the case for DUI and pretty sure its the same for speeding.

um... which state r u in? cos i'm pretty sure in qld learners have 4 points same as Ps, and u take the points, the only time the instructing driver takes any points is if they r over the blood/alc limit while "instructing" lol.

I'm curious, how did you manage to run a red? Especially the limit for L plater is 60kmph.

Geee 80kmph, you guys get it easy these days. No wonder there are so many "heros" on L these days.

I don't get how goverment keep putting up "Speed Kills" and increased the limit for L plater by more then 30%.

Dont start on this again.... I lost 3 points on the 3rd day I had my licence, almost killed myself & wrote off the car within 3 months of driving. Had to do half my HSC in a wheelchair. Rules are there for a reason.

Intense mate...

Point agreed though... Having my P's for 3 years helped me gain invaluable experience. YEah the cops pick on you. But once you're off your P's its much better and you're better off for it.
