Righto... Just an update:
Few holdups trying to find a cheap courier to perth. But doesnt look good.
My car is at Joe and Ricks being stripped down ready for the new engine.
Max is seeing his mate who builds race V8 Engines to see if he would do the work if i got the parts from RPW. Waiting on quote by thursday friday.
He is a good mechanic and max has used him to build many of his V8 Boats.
So yeah, for now the scooter is the only way...
Looks to be 2-3 months before the car is back

well originally my step dad thought his best mate (who owns a massive courier trucking business with over 40 semi's could take it over, but he has stopped diong runs to WA. But he said expect $500 each way....
$1000 in total... that would almost pay for the install by Joe and Rick.
So he's waiting on a quote from courier and from a local mechanic. Obviously getting the work done locally is cheaper... but depending on by how much, will decide wether to send interstate or not, as i would really love for the work to be done by RPW as they really know what they're doing.

when i bought barfy's sub box they were the cheapest by far (other ppl quoted me $100+ they quoted me $50 or $60)
so give them a ring, from memory, they r in perth.
and i'll see a friend at volleyball tonight, he works for main freight, i'll see if he can get some good rates or not.

Okay, another update:
I told RPW about my transport dilema. They said, whack it on a pallet and wrap it in plastic. Call them when its ready and they'll organise transport for $450. So this weekend its being packed up ready to go on monday.
Yay for progress!!! Once it leaves Taree, its going to be full steam ahead.
Hopefully gets to RPW by Thursday 7th June, leaves RPW by 1st August (giving them 8 weeks to work on it), meanwhile back on the gold coast the car will have been stripped out and ready for the new engine, also new exhaust, etc will be made ready. Also i will have the intake, etc at my place being polished to a mirror finish.
So it should arrive at Joe and ricks by the 3rd of August where they will spend a week or two putting it in.. Giving them 2 weeks (ample for their skills) it should leave there on Monday 20th to go to Gold Coast Mufflers for a custom 3" Exhaust System,21st it will then head up to Pro-Torque for its tune. After about 3 days with them, its heading to DMD for a new front bar and the fitting/painting of the skirts and rear pods. Which should be done by the Friday the 31st.
I know how unlikely it is to be on that schedule, but i've allowed extra with everything. as well as everyone who has given my timeframes has done the work many times before.
5th June Leaves taree
2 days to get to RPW
8 weeks to get engine work done (they said 6 weeks... max
8 weeks for car to be stripped out at JNR (joe N Ricks)
8 Weeks for me to polish stuff.
2 weeks for JNR to fit new engine (considering old one is already out)
2 days for exhaust fitment
3 days for tuning (should only take half a day)
Week and a half for bodykit and fitment. (should only take 4 days or so max)
So i have plenty of buffer in there... then worst case scenario, I need the car by the end of Sept for BAS (Bris Auto Salon) so theres another month buffer...

Yeah i know... Lucky i have the scoots to get around on untill then... And christ im saving some $$ on fuel!!! $3 a tank is awesome!
And i figure im going to do this right... get everything done so i can never have to take it off the road more than a couple of days.
New engine should be a very strong engine with all the work being done by the best in the country..
i.e. RPW for engine work (no-one comes close for FTO performance)
JNR for GPX to GR Conversion (No mechanic knows the FTO in as much detail as these guys)
Pro-Torque Tuning (they know my install and they have produced some awesome HP cars)
DMD (famous for their quality of work. No comparison)
Driver (me) (this is the weakest link. Servicing regularly and taking care of the work thats been done... but with so much $$ invested, I think i should be fine)
This is about as close as you can get to a no-expenses spared turbo install (bar a 6a13tt).

Righto... just got off the phone to my tuner.
He said when the engine is done, he'll go down to joe and ricks to make sure its all good (as far as the microtec) before they fire it up. And he can make it drivable to get me up to his workshop.
I also told him i was getting a few things done (exhaust, forgies, turbo cams, etc) i asked if 220kw atw was do-able... he laughed and said hell yeh... But im trying to not get optomistic... after all, anything over 200 is only good for the highway, and will prob limit my speed round the hills.
So whatever he gets, im gonna make him ease it back a bit for sake of engine reliability.
