no matter how hard i try im never upto date on this thing, the pics dont look to bad, all i can think is that its warped the chassis or the engine mounts or something. cause it does look repairable...

absolutly gutted

yeah, externally it doesn't look too bad...
but i think a fair bit of damage was done to the steering components

gutted too... gonna miss seeing "the turquoise terror" on cruises :(

Its a writeoff?! No way is that a writeoff. Christ I'd be furious if I was him having a 99% perfect car and having it decided a writeoff because of that. :x

OK its the old fart himself.

Yes its a gonner, quote was $15,000 to repair and realistically I would only get 13 / 14 K if I sold it. apparently the chassis is badly warped(like me) most of the front suspension is f****d.

from the photos it does not look bad, but believe me when I hit the bank from 60 kms/hr and a dead stop it does some damage. I thought about buying the wreck for spares but I have nowhere to put it, also I need the insurance money for my next car.

now the big question is will it be another FTO or will I go down the silly path and get a "soap box". Nah! definatly not a soap box. I have been offered a Porche 928 1982 model in pristine condition for $12500. here is a link to it

url] http://www.brooklands.com/vehicle_detai ... cle_id=158 [/url]

much as I love the FTO and it was the best car I had ever owned, I can see myself in a Porche.

Anyway I will catch up with the Vic guys on Saturday, I am riding shotgun with Chris.

PAL!!!!!!!!

porsche? NO!
people say the FTO is a hairdresser car!

seriously, please dont go down that path... think of the age and the repair bills.... (kinda like you going to the doctor) PRICEY!

buy a fkn camry and be done with it,

but buy something youd be happy to drive... buy a galant (magna) or something

but dont get a porsche, i will disown you!

10 housepoints for me guessing warped chassis!

I know someone who had one of those Porka's about 10 years ago......or one very much like it.

It's up to personal preference but in his case he sold it because from memory he wasn't happy with the way it performed and the lack of reliability.

That being said he is a rich kent.... :-)

Now has a 650hp WRX (bought brand new back in 1995), modded R33 GTR Vspec and a special one off Roaring 40's GT40 replica in his garage.

Cheer
